Could be, or it’s one of the easter eggs put in halo 4 , cause the total says 343.
But they maybe tried contacting earth, or other colonies. Cortana had put on a beacon at the end of halo 3 right ?
Could be the beacon was received by the UNSC replied that they would now hone in on that signal. Thus taking the additional 16 months for the Forward Unto Dawn to be found. Instead a faction of the Covenant found them first though.

I don’t think it say’s 50 or 5 % percent systems, I think it says six (written not number) because why would you have the percent symbol and then say percent as well.
Leaving that time window open means they can bring the MC back at any time. That time gap allows them to produce more games after the MC demise or just prequel this trilogy later. Its a story yet to be revealed.

This might be relevant as to how he got his new armor. The reason for this is that the teaser trailer occurs more than 4 years after the events of halo 3. Or so I’ve heard.
The picture might be part of the opening cutscene/synopsis. Occurring before the ship gets attacked/crashed.

No no no no, the opening of halo 4 is 4 years and 7 months past the ending of halo 3 , gameinformer have said that,also did Kiki Wolfkill,and what you’re looking at is MC walking around the ship, after cortana had to get him out of his nap lol. But I guess the whole line is saying : Last contact with unsc or unknown. Can’t figure out
