Lets have a ship called treble and a tank called bass cleff. lets have a mongoose type vehicle and call it the half note. kinda sounds stupid. but nice idea tho
If you want to go into naming things think about the previous names for the forerunner tech and then consider the patterns for the covenant and human vehicles supernatural and animals. We can assume that forerunner vehicles are likely to take on the names of gods or their respective military diction. Possible names would include those of greek or roman gods mainly involved with war and dealing with the actual use of the vehicle if it follows the halo 4 naming system or simple names such as cruiser dreadnought etc if following the past naming scheme of the sentinels and monitors. However it could be completely different seeing as the names of the covenant which have to do with predators and rank have nothing to do with their respective vehicles.
I can see them using variants from Greek Gods and Titans. Seeing as how Prometheans are named after Prometheus. I can see them naming a vehicle a Chariot or a Pegasus.
