Reddit could be an okay replacement for forums but it often seems to be filled with memes and gameplay videos which are usually of no interest to me. It just seem to have a different overall vibe.

I don’t even know what Discord is, and Reddit seems to be a hostile environment most of the time. Oh well, I’ll just keep playing in the dark like I usually do.

There is a pocket on the discord that behaves more like a proper thread / discussion. Hopefully that works.
Redditt I can’t workout. The discussion gets lost in the way the comments are sorted by upvotes. And everything just gets lost in a flood of jokes / memes.

The entirety of Waypoint is shrunk down to one small tab that hosts topics organized by tags . And it seems like the whole thing is subject to be reorganized at the wim of whatever the new admin flavor of the month is going to do.

The fact that quite a few people here would prefer not to jump on Social Media gives me hope for humanity.
My forum avatar never changed to the avatar of my Microsoft/Xbox account, even with the support ticket I made a year ago. At least I like the avatar I have here 
I didn’t come to the forums daily like some people, but I’ve had good times most anytime I was here. Definitely some quality people (ignored the lame ones) and quality discussion. Seeing impressions of avid players following every new update was interesting and occasionally thought provoking.

I’ve been trying to join as an Insider for a week now. Keep getting an error telling me Bob is working hard to fix it. I’m guessing Bob got roped into fixing the frame rate issues of Season 3 instead.

Its a pitty, it wasnt long for me, i just recently started in waypoint mostly because im not into social media 
I’ll will be cheking the news section thats for sure and i’ll think about social media one day.

If you’re referring to the Halo Insider program forums that are a section of this site, those are also being shut down. The entirety of the Waypoint forums are all being shut down

If there is an entirely separate Halo Insider’s forum from this website, that’s news to me lol

These forums were the place I came to discuss Halo-related anything. I don’t want to join a discord server, subreddit, or anything like that. This was for Halo.

We know what it’s about. I highly doubt the cost of having forums running is an issue. Stuffing everyone into a cesspool like discord servers or reddit/Twitter is a move AGAINST each and every one of us. They’re scraping their plate clean. It’s really really hard to not see this as a sign that it’s over, new season or not.
It’s done. But as long as MCC is around it’ll be alright. It’s not the end of the franchise or even that 343 is gonna be liquidated, just a sign that things are as dark as we’ve hypothesized. We’ll see what they do next but killing these forums speaks volumes to me. By far their loudest announcement since the first Infinite trailer.
But keep your chins up, keep on keeping on. Hope you all still manage to find joy in the franchise, whether it’s the games, books or that forsaken tv show.

I agree 100% I ran a FREE forum back in the Halo Combat Evolved Days. Plus you could download my custom maps from my forums for my “CUSTOM DEDICATED SERVER SOFTWARE” that came with Halo Combat Evolved!
