I haven’t used Discord much at all, I’ll be totally honest there.
Is it possible to create something like the SR152 Grind Thread in the H5 section or the Sprint Discussion Thread that were both actively posted in for like 6+ years?
I’m not trying to troll, I’m just genuinely asking because I haven’t used discord enough to know.

Well that sucks. I’m not going to make a Reddit account for reasons I shouldn’t have to list and I downright hate public Discord usage. It’s a chatroom for general socialization, not thoughtful and lasting conversations. This is a genuinely bad move as far as I can tell.
It’s like they want to remove the thoughts and voices of anyone with self-respect.

They’ve already used my CSR, or lack thereof, to discredit me.

I’m on multiple discord servers, personally and profesionally, but man… it doesn’t replace a mesagge board. And while I enjoyed hanging around here, I won’t engage on discord. It is just another point contributing to my declining interest in halo. And just another proofing point why 343 should never be allowed to touch the IP again.
I really hope they keep on failing in the next months so MS finally pulls the plug for good.
One good point about closing the board: the biased monitors have to get another job.

You misunderstand, I’m not talking about the application itself but rather the way people interact with it.
I use Discord every day. A lot of time goes into it probably, I don’t really track it but it’s my most used social media platform.
The thing is that it’s mostly used as a big chatroom. Look at any big Discord community and go to the General chat. Now rather than having people specifically go to discussion forums for discussion, you’ll have general chatting people hop onto the forum posts instead.
I’m not saying those people are bad but have you actually looked at the posts? The most currently used thread is about rating people’s customization, some lfg and custom games stuff. Like Reddit it’s social media first and that’s the kind of content you will find there.

Well the main issue there is that when you join the discord whoever owns the discord is the only one who can make a bunch of pages/channels or mods may have the authority to do so. Discord is not designed to be a forum at all. With enough effort it can be made into somewhat of a forum, but it’ll never have the sectioning off of threads and topics like what you can get here on the actual forms. Realistically Reddit is the next closest thing and that’s just not the best place and I’ll leave it at that. Social media is a crap shoot on actually trying to get your opinions heard. Honestly if we can find another site to do forums that might work but someone’s probably going to have to make them.

Well this is quite the shame. Discord is a poor replacement for a forum, IMO, and reddit is… well, reddit. Unfortunately, that seems like it will be the only forum-ish experience remaining for Halo.

I tried to join the discord today, and apparently some users accounts take up to 5 days to be joined into Discord servers… What a great upgrade from waypoint 
.
I can’t think the issue is a name filter, as I’m creating the same user name I have here…
Hopefully I’ll catch some of the ol’ Waypoint crew on discord, Reddit, or heck I might even check out HBO again to see what’s going on there.

It’s kind of like a summary of my greatest hits.
And it didn’t take long for that guy to use the “Onyx” card.
The funny thing is he actually did very well… and I’m still not entirely sure what he’s angry about. We’ve always come out of placement a bit lower than our actual rank.

Especially in Australia where you probably played most of them at 200 ping.
Either way keep fighting the good fight. You don’t need to be a top level player to understand the maths behind the ranking system. Hell, you don’t even need to be a player at all.
