no offense, but do you really think they’re going to get useful feedback out of the discord server? have you SEEN that thing?
Yes. They have a forum type thing on the discord.
I couldn’t agree more with this Derk.
I’m going to miss the Waypoint forums. Always gave me better insight into the real feelings of so many Spartans.
Probably.
They don’t get much useful feedback here, that’s for sure.

Unsurprisingly the feedback in the official discord is roughly the same as the feedback they get in here.
However in the discord with a huge number of people (as the Halo discord host for ALL halo games, not just infinite) and no official channel for feedback in the server for ANY games, most feedback is easily buried.
At least on the forums, there are clear topics of conversation, OP’s point, and then everyone who agrees with them and/or everyone’s counterpoints clearly labeled.
You’re gonna find trolls in both formats regardless.
And the forums have the benefit of people taking a breather to post what they want to say, and that’s that until they get a direct response or another point they want to reply to. You don’t have 9 people all typing at the same time over one another.
I think the biggest benefit to discord is people can post easy to access videos and graphs, y’know, easy statistic visuals and examples.
The stamp system has its benefits of giving a quick snapshot of how many people agree/disagree/think you’re trolling without the need of writing up an empty sentence or becoming an echo chamber. (Something that discord underutilizes and social media platforms only show “likes”)
A good example of the stamp system working would be on Dodgers’ post saying that there’s a discord when the entire point of this post is specifically because the discord is not as an effective medium for providing feedback as the forums for reasons “X”, “Y”, and “Z”

It doesn’t, but I like to believe that people can see it’s the same person posting the same stamps and jump to the conclusion of trolling, something that’ll happen anywhere, my favorite being the “No, ur wrong.” and refusing to elaborate.
I agree, I tend to prefer forums too. I cannot see myself going to Discord. It’s really hard to keep track of conversations, especially when hundreds of people are writing. By the time you want to get back at one topic the next day, it basically becomes ancient history.
Shutting the forum down is a massive L and drives 343i and the community even further apart
Unable to post a new topic. No button anywhere while logged in. I Googled the issue and other players have the same issue on Reddit over a year ago and it’s never been resolved.

More trolling than anything else I think.
Reddit is not even close to the civility here. And the Discrd server is just filled with overly positive shills where no problems are truly criticizised.
This was by far the best place.
While I use discord for a number of things, I gave the halo discord a shot and its…not impressive. It honestly feels more dead than these forums. While it could be because its a bad time (though 4pm EST on a weekend would seem to be a good time)
There’s currently one group in a VC and like maybe 2 discussions going.
Given it or the reddit are kind of the best places to write something a bit more than a 1-liner, I expected these to be more lively given they’re the replacement.
The Discord also doesn’t seem setup as a proper replacement at all.
reddit is chaotic, and discord is just not set up for proper forums, this place was the best we could get and now it’s gone. It’s a shame 343 didn’t use these threads to their full advantage, after all, why would 343 keep these forums if they never used them for proper feedback and engage with the community? Disappointing move by 343.
After being there for a while, the Discord forums honestly aren’t too bad. They’re just quite because it doesn’t have as many people on them. That can easily be fixed if more people actually go there and start conversations and interactions with one another.
There are other places too if you want to go there or not. Steam has a Halo Infinite Forum as well as places like Game Faqs, although both are kind of light on communication too.
They will delete your posts on discord
