Okay, so I see a lot of posts apparently no one knows how to do simple things, I’ll explain the icons and what they do.
From left to right
B=Bold you can either highlight section and hit this button or hit the button, type, and hit button again
i*=italics acts exactly like the bold button, but it does italics.*
- the first list thing that looks like bars with numbers does a number list, either highlight word section and press button or hit list, type, hit list again
- The second one is a bullet list right after the first list either highlight word section and press bullet list or hit bullet list, type, hit bullet list again. This looks just like bar icon but it has bullets instead of numbers on it.
> This is a quote. It is right after the second list. Either highlight what you want quoted or push the quote button and type in the words. button that looks like a dream bubble is a quote button
This is right after the quote button, it acts just like a quote but it also hides your words til someone clicks on it. Button that looks like a triangle with exclamation mark = spoilerRight next to the spoiler button is the link button.
Either click it or highlight the word you want, I:e map name and put in URL. It is to help shorten posts and make things look more professional.
It’s the button that looks like two links hooked together, a chain link.
Go to file browser, find you’re map, click its link option. Copy it. Go to post, type in your map name, highlight it and click the chain link button, paste URL and your done. Simple.
Marine rank or higher
> If you’re not a marine, I’d suggest using -Yoink!- with preview for shorter and neater links just until they update the link rules. Use your map name or something along those lines.
> Tinyurl
Next to it is a little person icon, it is used to hyperlink a username. It works just like the above, but all you need is a username
Cosmic Storm300
There is a shield looking icon, that is for Spartan companies and to link your company in the post.
Finally, at the very end is square with a slash in it. It is used to check you’re coding and fix any errors in you’re bbcode, the code this forum uses. Let’s say a bracket is missing from a quote, or it just says spoiler. You click the bbcode button and find you’re missing code, delete it or fix it, hit button again. You are now done. You can also click it to fix spacing issues or type extra in quote or spoiler brackets.
Enjoy this detailed guide on how to forum.
I hope this helps all of you make cleaner, more detailed posts in the future.
