You can skip the introduction, the core of my post dealing with ‘Forging Firefights’ is beneath
[Intro]
I have to apologize as I don’t post on forums and don’t know how to structure posts, the edict etc. This is all quite new to me.
Okay so a quick introduction; I’ve become surprisingly obsessed with the halo universe in the past month after buying an Xbox One and the MCC. I’ve already bought some Books and Comics and I’ve been blown away with how rich the universe is (still haven’t played Halo 4’s campaign yet, I’m cramming as much halo lore/knowledge as I can before hand i.e. Kilo-Five trilogy & Forerunner trilogy, etc). So after delving into some of Halo’s campaign and playing the (addictive) multi-player I decided to check out Forge.
[Intro over]
Okay so I’m poking around in Halo 4’s Forge and there’s a game-type called ‘Flood’ it’s summary is as follows; “Stay alive and survive the Flood outbreak”. I’m thinking wow great I can create a game in the halo multi-player maps where I have to survive waves of Flood, I can set their spawn locations and edit the maps to my liking. My mind is already racing with the possibilities; editing an environment designed specifically for a flood invasion and a group (or just one) Spartans having to hold their position (not to mention the fan-fic reasons as to why the Spartans are there!). I mean this all sounds completely awesome.
I’ll spare you the details because I’m pretty sure most of you guys know where this is going, after some experimentation I come to the conclusion that what I had hoped for is not possible (which is a bummer to say the least).
I remember there was something called Firefight in Halo ODST but it doesn’t look like that was ported over to the MCC. I also did a bit of research and it doesn’t look like Halo 5 will have anything that resembles Firefight either (excluding war zone which still looks fun as hell).
So there you go. I guess the point of this is I wish there was some way you could Forge Firefights (or even have them included back into the halo games) and share them with the halo community. I’m holding out for Halo 6 though. My fingers are crossed.
