Forging Feels Pointless With Infinite Coming Out

All our maps will be left behind, and likely less and less players will stick around to utilize them. I’ve got ideas, and would like to start Forging, but I know it’ll just go to waste.
Anyone else feeling the same way?

I never got into forging to begin with, but I can feel you. I wouldnt worry too much about “maps going to waste” I still remember customs from H3 that are burned into my memory forever where they live on, even if the world has moved past that to the current generation. It is the natural way of time for the old to be replaced with the new, but that doesnt mean the old was worthless or forgotten only that their time has past and that their legacy must carry on in a different from now.

It’s your canvass. If you have ideas see them through, as long as you have fun with it and you are enjoying what you are doing ita not a waste.

you can use your Halo 5 forge ideas in Halo Infinite, since you know that most of the population will be in Halo Infinite when it is released.

as the halo 5 community is really weak right now, I think that going to the trouble of forging a nice map is useless.

The player base in all the previous games will undoubtedly tank upon release but they will recover and people will continue to play them. Halo 5’s player base has somewhat decreased over time and will continue to after Infinite’s release, and particularly then, but it’s not to the point yet where playing the game at all or in your case Forging is a completely fruitless endeavor. The only real question is if you enjoy it enough to classify it as a good use of your time, since it will have some point to doing it even if it is impacted later on.

i think forging in halo 5 is a great was to proto type maps for infinite, i have done it with a infection map idea that would have strategically placed fusion coils for people to yeet. so i think if you design maps now with ideas of mechanics in infinite you could translate them easily over.

the forge of halo 5 is really a strong point of this game.

I recommend using your idea in infinite and make maps in H5 to later transfer them over.
