Forging ahead for the Future

I just had a great idea for Halo 6 in regards to forge. I think it would be amazing with forge if you could adjust the game based off previous games. Imagine a forge map based off Halo CE’s gameplay and hit detection for example being able to drive with the flag etc.Of course it wouldn’t just be CE but the other Halo games as well. Maybe even make a hybrid mixture of games like Halo CE and Halo 2 or Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Yeah and if it’s set for CE/2/3, the map wouldn’t be compatible with modern modes that include sprint and clamber. That’s definately an interesting idea.

So basically, on the game setting we have the option to deeply tweak the gameplay itself?
Example:

  • Toggle between hitscan or projectile gameplay - Option to reduce or increase the bullet magnetism - Presets to a specifc Halo game (gameplay wise)If that’s that, I would be in joy at the time sadness to realise we can deeply change the gameplay setting to the point we can make our own Halo gameplay. But that’s gonna be very unlikely and hard to do.

Anything could happen. I agree it would be tough to pull off but nothing is impossible. Remember the believe ad!

The characteristics you used in your example are really more features of a custom game type than they are of a forge map. That said, they could have given us access to these parameters a long time ago. The fact that they haven’t suggests to me that they value at least some degree of cohesion and consistency within a single title. I get that the ensuing chaos and confusion would be confined to custom games, and I know that that’s pretty much exactly what customs were created for, and I would be the last guy to deprive anybody else of something they want. But they certainly wouldn’t have to do it for my sake. It’s all I can do to learn how one game works over the three years that it’s current. Having to know them all within the span of a single match seems like a recipe for mind-snapping horror.

You have a good point right there. It would be an amazing mind snapping horror though haha.
