I have the master chief collection on PC. Whenever I try to enter certain multiplayer maps, the load screen for said map shows, then it just boots me to a black screen. I can type in chat, and see my cursor during this black screen. When I bring up the chat, a back button appears in the lower left corner that does nothing. From what I can gather, I think the match is progressing while I am stuck in this screen. The only ways I’ve been able to get out of the screen is by closing the game, or if the match concludes. The annoying part is that if I close my game to try to get into another match, I get a temporary ban from leaving the game early. This only seems to happen on maps with the load screen that has the halo outdoors on it. Is this a known issue?

I’m having the same issue, only when I try to load into Tempest based matches. No fix yet.
Some guy on chat told me I “need the maps downloaded” or something. No Idea what he meant by that. This game isn’t the most descriptive with it’s features.

Ok so I’ve been having this problem in multiplayer where whenever a game on a forge world map would occur my game would just sit on a black screen and would came back after the match was over. I know others have been having this issue. I looked up a solution and this is what worked for me. On the Steam version of Halo MCC right click the game and click properties. Then go to the Local Files tab and click “Verify Integrity of Game Files.” This will scan the game files and then should download some missing files. This is for the steam version not sure about the Microsoft store version. I feel silly I didn’t think to try this earlier as this can fix a lot of things for games on steam. Hope this helps!
The same happened to me as well but on my Xbox one. I don’t know the issue either. But I think it may has something to do with putting too much on the map. But that’s only a theory though. Because when I entered my other forged map everything was fine.
