When reach first came out everyone was like “oh my god this is so awesome” (and it is) Then people are like “oh forge world isnt big enough” Oh my god, its friggin huge. It pushes the engine to the limits, and people still complain on its size.
We don’t complain about the size, we complain on how like only 20% of forgeworld is useful for really good stuff.
There’s nothing wrong with the size of forge world but the color scheme makes the maps made on it seem very dull.
People complain about it’s size? All I hear are the entirely understandable “I’m completely tired of playing on Forge World maps in matchmaking” complaints.
Forge World is sort of hated by me because it’s practically the only map effective for forging and the pallete is rather boring grays and blues with some dark green and purple.
Yes I’m complaining about its size…It’s too friggin big! Only 20% of the map is used and the design of it took up too much time during Reach’s development meaning we got so few other maps. I’d have been happy with a large, simple room with -Yoink- load of objects and a varied pallete to play with + a larger budget…
But that’s just me.
Bungie should’ve stuck with their original plan and kept it divided into 5 smaller forge spaces.
Like several other areas of Halo: Reach, Forge World is a half-baked experiment: it’s okay, but not what it could’ve [or should’ve] been. It’s big, but it could’ve been alot bigger. There are more objects to choose from than ever before, but they’re boring to look at over an extended period of time. The rotation snap, physics and coordinate functions are just what the doctor ordered, but I don’t think a terrain-altering tool would’ve gone amiss. The new color filters can make for some truly interesting maps, but time-of-day and weather functions would’ve been better.
There are many other things that could’ve been done with Forge World that weren’t (for one reason or another). Does that make Forge World bad? No, but it doesn’t make it particularly good either.
Way to make assumptions.
Forge World is too dull and bland. They should of divided it in 5 parts, with different climates.

It is not that we hate it. I for one complety agree with you forge world is huge and is the biggest map of all. but we just don’t like the dull gray, don’t get me wrong the forerunners make beatiful structures but most is communtiy made maps and are not ture remake maps.
Im not one of those oh put pelicans, scarbs and phantoms in it, really we flew one of those in new alexandra, people can be very ungratful.
WAIT til HALO 4 forge might have everthing we want.

i agree no one ever uses up even half of the forge world space when making a map. plus 5 maps would bring a lot more diversity to the forge pallette
