I would like Forge World from Halo Reach to be in Halo Infinite and for the forge controls to be easier to use like it was in Halo Reach
Forge accessibility/ease of use is extremely important. Reach did a great job with this, too. It had a Forge system that was multitudes more powerful than Halo 3’s, and yet felt very accessible and easy to use for basic construction. Forge masters still had to put time in to memorizing its finer details, but even people brand new to the game could throw together some interesting archetecture without too much hassle.
Halo 4 did a decent job of carying that ease of use forward and adding a few handy additions to Forge’s capability, but none of the template maps from Halo 4 possessed the inherent personality of Forge World. I think Forge World worked so well because it was almost a completely blank canvas, except that you had to work around its topography. This usually led to finding an interesting place on Forge World and building your map around it; maybe counterintuitively, this made me more rather than less inspired. H4 had massive Forge canvases, and they weren’t altogether void of character, they just possessed a lot more negative space in my memory than Forge World did.
Infinite needs to nail Forge if 343 wants this game to enjoy the kind of community vibrancy of older Halo titles. You’re 100% right to say that two great ways for them to accomplish that is to provide a Forge system with a low skill ceiling to begin to use (it’s totally fine if it’s much more difficult to master) and putting inspired Forge canvases like Forge World into the game.
