Forge world in Halo reach is an awesome canvas that is so well designed. None of us could believe it was real, coming from Halo 3 which didn’t have any maps close to the size of forge world.
For a last gen game, forge world looks next-gen. The vistas are incredible. The entire map is so well designed and there are so many map possibilities that you could spend days in forge messing around.
Halo reach was the pinnacle of custom games.
If forge world was last-gen, imagine what could be done on current-gen if 343 made a Forge World 2.
My Forge world 2 wishlist:
A bigger map. I’m talking 4X taller, 4X longer and 4X wider. A huge canvas to showcase the power of the Xbox One
More Vehicles. I can’t be the only one who wished to be able to fly longswords, pelicans, seraphs and phantoms in forge.
More landmarks. Forge world had The pillar, The Island, The Canyon, The waterfalls and The base underneath Asylum (I forget what it is called.) Forge world 2 should have lots more.
More forge-able objects. Copy and paste H2A’s forge objects basically.
Adding a more diverse set of environment types would be nice as well. Forge World was a little too green. Having deserts, tropics, and tundra would add a lot more diversity to the maps people can make.
Options for in-map destructible objects, like the rocks in Halo 2A. Also, dynamic weather the likes of which we have seen in the map Eden (I really hope that is an option).
I wouldn’t mind another Forge world. Those first few weeks I spent in reach were absolutely jaw dropping like you said. There just needs to be a way to do different texture pallets and environment effects (snow, desert, etc) Due to the limited amount of disc maps in reach towards the end of its life almost every map anyone played was on Forge world,so everything got really really old, really really fast.

> Literally take the forge in H2A, add the ability to change weather and time of day and waboom!, got yourself a recipe for success.
Ye, but Forge World 2.0 too. I like a proper landmass to forge on, and Forge World is my favourite videogame map of all time
