FORGE WOLRD...

The forge world map on halo 4 in my opinion is not up to the standards of previous forge worlds, where as it is a nice looking map its far to small and to me kinda limits the possibilities for player created maps. Anyone else find this?

There are three maps built for Forge, I can’t wait to see the amazing creations to come out of it.

I agree, I expected a huge forge map but I guess not.

The lack of room in the current Forge maps is very disappointing. There were some truly amazing creations in Forge World that aren’t possible anymore.

Incidentally, where can I see people’s forge maps? Did no one really make any, or is the search feature just broken at the moment?

go back to reach

Yep. The Forge itself is awesome. The maps are not. As cool as the environments look, especially Impact, they are way too small, and way to restricted. All have premade structures that can’t be deleted and many areas are full of hills and landscapes that are hard to work with.

If Reach’s Forge World was in Halo 4, that would be incredible. Make it happen in a DLC, 343. I’d be willing to pay, even with an LE.

File Share isn’t working yet.

Interesting. Anyone have an idea as to when it will be?

I think they said next month.

When Halo Reach came out, Forgers started complaining that Forge World, while big and whatnot, was bland and not different enough to be interesting. All of the Forge pecies were extremely bland and an eyesore.

343 has fixed that by giving 3 extremely different environments to forge on. All of which can be used to make small or large maps. Yet, people want back what was once complained about.

The Halo community makes no sense anymore.

Halo 3 maps>>>Halo 4 maps>Reach map (I refuse to call it “maps”)

The land on Ravine is smaller than Last Resort.

Am I the only one that has noticed there is an enormous empty volume off to the side of Impact? There is no way you could run out of room there.

When you restrict people, they get more creative. I’ve seen some great maps on Halo 3, and those were pretty restrictive, but that didn’t stop the Cartographers.

However, it would be nice if they removed some killzones. And made it possible for us to Forge on the water in Ravine and Erosion. And s Sand Forge World would be nice.

Having multiple canvases to forge on has the benefit of variety in environment aesthetics. Forge World was strictly a sunny day clear sky environment.

The problem with the canvases is not that there are several, but that the palette for Ravine, for example, represents UNSC structures that you place on a forerunner canvas - they clash and it is difficult to make a play area that looks believable. In other words, cohesion is very difficult to create with a map on that canvas.

None of the Forge maps are not to be considered Forge World. They’re simply maps made for forging (like Halo 3’s Foundry and Sandbox). Forge World although held all kinds of possibilities, had a repetitive environment.

With Halo 4, there are 3 different maps of different environments, even a map in space. In my opinion, the Halo 4 maps are better as a whole compared to Halo Reach’s Forge World. If you fly around the maps a little, you can find some good spots for some building.

I have already spotted over 20 or so ways to make maps on that space forge map and plenty of more on the others. Hell, even Erosion comes with it’s own huge empty room to be used in Grifball, or even remakes of Foundry maps. In my opinion, Halo 3 and Halo 4 forge maps are far superior to the bland oversized Forge World.
