To what end? You’re not earning any brownie points, that’s for sure. Matter of fact is, people are tired of 343’s antics, and we know by now 343 isn’t interested in making their audience happy anymore (at least their leaders aren’t).
And since the entire deal with monetization in any form ultimately gets the greenlight from their leaders, it’s a safer bet to keep it skeptical than to foolishly inject hopium only to be stabbed in the back.
Calling out the insistence that your admittedly false statement is somehow based in fact should be called out?
Not trying to earn brownie points, just calling a duck “a duck”.
Doesn’t mean anyone can start using false statements to justify their dissatisfaction.
What multiplayer gameplay related feature has been monetized since far that was previously stated as being free?
Forge has always been tied to multiplayer exclusively, and the multiplayer gameplay is “free-to-play”, it would make sense that since Theater (being tied to multiplayer) is free so too Forge will be.
I’m not making claims, just explaining my thought path.

While Forge enables you to exclusively edit multiplayer maps, it came packaged as part of a $60 “deal” (in retrospect) that included a multiplayer suite, Custom Games, Forge and the Campaign itself. You can argue that Forge was part of the $60 package, and that it may be included in the $60 “DLC” for Infinite that is Infinite’s main campaign, especially if Forge is planning on pulling assets from the main campaign.
I smell BS. This is 343 we’re talking about.
remember in halo 3 when we bought the heroic map pack? foundry and ghost town etc… and then the legendary map pack? then also the mythic map pack? cold storage was a standalone dlc map by itself
we got new forge items then anyway!!! content packs for forge has existed since the beginning of forge anyway
I fully agree. The devs who improved MCC HAD my trust until they announced MTX were coming after quite literally saying they were never going to do that with MCC. Now, I don’t trust any part of 343.
Right, they say that now. Give it the first update after it drops and there will be a price tag on it. Want this map? 10$+, want these items? More money please. 343i could throw stacks off a building, then a week later say “Hey we need our money back”
This decision was above their pay grade.
Devs use to have a say to an extent, but nowadays they are treated just as we are working for any business. So I expect things to get worse as usual. Look at what happened to Bungie, they are corrupted business now and 343 is following their footsteps down to the T.
What makes matters worse is how the Bungie today pretends to care, when back in they day they did care to an extent and you could see it through the game they produced. 343 is just riding the original Bungie’s work and pretending they “created a Halo game”.
