In Halo 4 Forge, Will we be able to place vehicles and drive/pilot like: Phantoms, Pelicans etc.
This might not seem halo style, but I always wanted to be able to place AIs and give them specific things to do like, This Marine will shoot anyone on sight. or this Brute will only attack unsc/a team? This Elite will drive this vehicle to this location.
I think that would be cool. (I always like having AIs)
I also think it would be amazing if its just possible to create like a tunnel through a existing mountain or underwater. I’m Thinking something like a hollow cylinder or something that when its placed in water, the centre of it will not have water and will be safe to be in? (Ever tried building something and a rock is in the way?)
As long as there is a forgeable elephant, I’m happy.
But on a serious note:A.I’s would really lag up games, but the tunnel thing is called Quantum tunneling. And it was in a thread before this one(its a good read). These ideas are cool but 343 is basically done with the game. They are just polishing now.
Vehicles like those will likely not happen until the next gen, and AI probably never. As for the underwater and tunneling thing, I’d love if that existed but honestly this too I do not see until the next gen. To be honest all I really want in Forge this time around is The Mammoth

We will be able to place vehicles yes, drive them yes, but as far as phantoms and pelicans, don’t know.

Um, I much rather have that kind of feature for a full blown map editor/creator and fire fight, so we can make our own fire fight maps.

Um, sorry to break it to you, but that can’t really be done, if the current Developer kit for Halo is the similar to how it is in Halo Custom Edition and Halo 2 PC, the only way to edit the terrain is to open the map model in a $1000+ modeling program to edit the model to give it the cave/tunnel. Granted there are map editors/creators like Cry Engine’s Sand Box Editor, that is very user friendly, and lets people create maps with out the $1000+ modeling software. but I don’t think Halo’s Forge mode would be able to do any terrain editing. Think of Forge like this. Forge is like the laptop/desktop you buy from Walmart or Best Buy, and a full blown map editor/creator is a custom build desktop computer that you built from the ground up, case, mother board, power supply, graphics card, CPU, hard drives, the works.

Hopefully the Mammoth is better than the elephant in halo 3 was. The elephant was basically useless, aside from those hilarious elephant wars.
Just give the ai a basic script for built in maps like look for player around the map if new weapon found swap it for old and have like a radar/sensor like code to where when it walks it has a x foot radius that tells if it’s near a wall and if shoot by player return fire or attack.
We have not received word on any of the things you mentioned. The only things that we know so far is that there will be magnets (to connect things together easily), lock/unlock objects (so that you don’t accidentally move an object), object tinting (so you know which object you’re holding), duplicate button, player trait zones (zone that when you step in- you can have overshield, invincibility, etc), gravity zones (anything in it will pull up, down, left, right), and dynamic lighting (forge objects cast and recieved shadows).
I play halo custom edition more than i play the accual console halos and the ai in HCE are very very intelligent, I’ve played some maps where they act like people i think that ai in H4 is able to be done. Done easily accualy but the reason we havent seen it yet and probably wont is because, unless you just want us to be able to put preset bots on the map like seen in COD black ops, forgeable ai would take up a s*** load of space on the disc and isnt really worth it because even though i would love to see ai be forgable, with no covenant in multiplayer i would lose interest immidiately.
