So I re-watched the forge reveal video from RTX today and a few of the features made me a little… worried.
The main feature that worries me is the new player mode/dynamic lighting. Don’t get me wrong, the new lighting system is great, but I just can’t understand how this feature would work with multiple people in a forge lobby. If one player switches to player mode, does everyone have to?
Another thing. If one player locks an object, can it still be moved by another player or does it have to be unlocked by the player who locked it?
Forge sounds great but the features don’t sound like they’re designed for a multi-player level editor. Would you be upset if forge was purely single-player in Halo 4? I know I would…
There’s multiplayer for Forge, if those new additions removed the possibility of having Online, they wouldn’t take a step backwards and remove online Forging.
Also, at RTX Jack and Geoff played an Achievement Horse map together on forge. So yeah.

I’d imagine each player would have their own colour and on each object they’ve made a change to, their colour will highlight that. So each of the other players with you know who did what.
it’s not just single player. In the video they said when you play with others, when other convert into monitor/spartan form the switch-screen effects everyone, or something like that

This. Someone asked a question about it at the RTX Panel.
We know it’s not limited to singe player because the reason they gave for not having an undo feature this time around was because of networking/netcode problems. If it was single-player only, that wouldn’t even be an issue.
