Okay to here it goes. The Forge in Halo4 is kinda crude. I found that I was left wanting a bit on Erosion and Ravine, they are great don’t get me wrong. I just felt the amount of things I could really create was sorta limited and narrow in scope. There is only so many crazy ways to twist the map into a cool gametype. Especially Ravine with its cliffside, but there are some BIG Forge mode itches I’ve never got to scratch and I seriously want 343i to be an enabler here.
See, Bungie used to get SWAMPED with Forge requests. Everybody had something they wanted, you know? A lot of people would even agree unanimously on some subjects like “Can we get some more flying vehicles?” or “Could we get a map with some really seriously varied space?”
Hell back in Halo 3 people even tended to agree that “There ought to be a map where you can forge around/in some water”
So I’ll do something neat. No real complaining. Consider this like a game. Name the three things you always WISHED Halo Forge would cover for you that never got done. There is an ocean of wants and possibilities. Name YOUR favorite 'What if’s.
I’ll start it off.
>Forge has NEVER had a map with Water space. There doesn’t need to be much of it, just enough for a small map. But some neck deep water that doesn’t instagib you could lead to some really neat things. Flood sharks? Aquatic Grifball? Or even just a partially submerged FFA map with some Knee deep water for fun.
>An elevator a door and a rotating platform. Thats right. Moving parts. Never been done but has always been in wanting. This is like the water, goes all the way back to when Forge was born. A door with an ‘x to open’. And Elevator and goes up and down endlessly and then a large rotating platform to pop into a map for some silly flavor.
and finally
>Give us a map with some ample sky and return rework the Falcon into a sort of Sky bus. Imagine if Ravine’s cliffs where much further apart? Two cliffside bases loaded with Banshees and Troop Falcons to try to party barge a flag back and forth. Or even an Aerial themed Regicide! Spartans have their boots on the ground and I already suggested those boots get wet someday. Why not give players and excuse to really get into the air.
