After a long day of classes at my university I figured I would test out the new Community Forge Test Playlist. I can honestly say that the maps played well and almost (key word almost) made me feel like I was actually playing a Halo game. But some things need to change:
-
Completely get rid of CoD style create-a-class. Get rid of it. This is Halo not CoD. Spawn all players with a Battle Rifle. For crying out loud start everyone off with an assault rifle. Put weapons on map. Make an equal playing field…you know the way that every Halo game did…
-
Get rid of Ordinance Drops. We don’t need kill streaks in Halo. Stop rewarding bad players.
-
Create an actual ranking system to give people an incentive to play the game. You can get to SR 130 and lose every game you play. If you reward people for losing why even bother going for the win when you can -Yoink!- your own stats?
It saddens me that more people are playing MW3 than Halo 4 right now. I don’t want to lose my favorite game. Please make the changes before this game becomes obsolete.
Just had a quick game of the Forge playlist, played Shutout. It was… really good. It’s a shame that Jetpack breaks it so badly, but the game was a lot of fun and brought back a lot of memories.
DMR is a beast on Lockout.
Also like that there is some ammo on map, at least when the game started there was.
More people are playing Halo 4 than MW3 on Xbox Live, right now. But MW3 has more players online because it’s multi-console. (I think)
The forge playlist is excellent! Like a fresh breeze airing out a room that had one too many farts in it. Poop humor aside, I think we’ll have to accept things like the loadouts and ordinance drops. I’m more on the purist side of the fence with you, but this is their baby and those things are here to stay. The nice thing is that future playlists might exist with classic Halo starting weapons and weapon spawn points and the like. I’d accept double the ordinance drops if the armor abilities would chill out, like that active camo and vision crap… but I digress.
The next step would logically be to divide the playlists into several categories. Like the Ranked and Social divisions. I’ve heard rumors of some kind of a skill ranking number that acts behind the scenes being a real displayed and tangible value for players to show and tell.

Only one platform has Xbox Live…
