All current Halo gamers that have played Halo from the get go know that Forge made its debut with Halo 3. Halo Reach Followed. Halo 4. and Halo 5 all had forge. The easiest forge to learn was Halo 3. It was basic and couldn’t really maneuver objects where you wanted but a monkey could do it. Halo Reach advanced it but kept the same style mechanics and was quick to learn. Halo 4 was similar with a few upgrades but the mechanics remained similar enough that a parent with limited time could pick it up rather quickly. Halo 5 came out and floored a lot of older gamers with the amount of time it took to learn the new options and even more time to learn the mechanics. My proposal to 343, ( to help us older generation gamers with limited time) is that there be different type of Forge style mechanic options.
Example:
Halo 3/ Reach Classic- basic mechanics but less advanced options
Halo 4 Classic- basic mechanics but more advanced options
Halo Forge Advanced- Advanced mechanics with advanced options.
It can be done. Many of us older generation gamers that have limited time due to kids, careers, and life in general would appreciate the options. It would allow us to join in on the fun of creating maps with ease like the good ole’ days. I know I know. But the current mechanics really aren’t that hard to learn if you devote the time. Well, when you get older and have to choose between learning more mechanics which aren’t really a necessity to make maps or spend time with kids: it’s a no brainer that time with the kids is always first. I’m not asking to take away the new options just tweak it for us older generations that spend money on games and future games that keep 343 in business.
What’s your constructive thoughts on this? Can 343 do it? Will they? Would you embrace Forge style options? Or don’t you really care cause time is all you have?
