Forge Strat, CC Welcomed

Been playing a lot of Johnson, love him, his early game is strong on defense and he’s so good you can quickly get into tech 2 and start spamming a mix of mantis/hornet or mantis/Wolverine and it works a decent amount of the time.

I have Forge but haven’t played him much, anyone got any good links I can look at about Forge and how to play him? I’ve looked up some stuff and watched some vids but this is the best start I’ve come up with so far;

Early game: 5 marines within first few minutes of game while building 2 adv generators asap, defend for early game and and pick up nodes, resources, and minis.

Mid Game: Warthog spam on enemy expansions and minis to stifle them.

Late Game: Sacrafice warthog army on enemy main base slowly as pop is needed. Use warthog sacrifices to destroy enemy buildings and not the base itself (preferably reactors if the enemy isn’t tech 3 yet). Final push with 70% tanks 30% wolverines or flamers if the enemy has focused infantry. All the while having 1 scout up to de-capture enemy nodes and checkout what the enemy is doing.

Is this a sound strat? Constructive Criticism welcomed.

Edit: side strat if enemy goes hard AV is to go Condor with Hornet and Nightingale army to fly over the AV and pop the bases.

I hate to say it but Johnson is the weakest leader in the game. And I main him, it is a sad day for me.

But really Forge has good early game and you should play more on it, building Forgehog with your build and some flamers and snipers with 2 gens if your opponent it going hard on T1 will usually win. Huge maps you can Fast Tech and do what you’re doing still.

Your Mid-Game sounds good, maybe some Gales and Wolverines if needed and add Forge.

Your late game should consist of Grizzlies, Wolves and Healers and Hero, you don’t need Flamers. Grizzlies will munch on them, if they are going hard on Hunters build like 4-5 Snipers and you’re set. Cyclops you can beat with Grizzles.

Overall it sounds like you have a solid strat and idea of how to play Forge. (Gauss Overcharge on Hero is king)

Johnson is one of the strongest leaders in the game, don’t give false information

No he isn’t, I main Johnson and he’s one of the weakest. His early game is sub par and lose’s to Meta extremely hard.
He’s slightly better then Serina.

Your build is a little too passive at tech one. You should try to push for some kind of advantage in the early game usually by taking nodes and mini bases. If you play to passive early on then your opponent will be behind your tech but not by much if they get map control, they will be far better off than you when they catch up. A buddy of mine goes single barracks instead of your second gen and uses hellbringer, marine, and pelican drop to harass minis and take nodes quickly as well as respond to attacks pretty much anywhere on the map. Combine this with heavy metal or healing wave and you can make constant pokes at your enemies generators and expansions. Forge is all around a great leader because he can pretty much do everything so do everything with him! Harass like kinsano, eco like pav, steam role like Izzy, and be douchy like shipmaster. Hope that helps.
