Forge Ruins

Would we be able to get a new Forge map (idealy free, though I can understand if not) after the Champions bundle releases?

I ask this because, while Forge Island is fun, I still feel like a brand new pallet would really benefit the Forge Community as a whole. Forge Island is arguably the most common forge pallet in use at the moment (likely due to rocks and lack of framerate errors the other maps have) and I’d like to see a new version of it come into play.

My idea then, is Forge Ruins. As much as I really, really want a Snow based canvas to Forge on, I think a ruinous map and pallet would be put to more and better use.

The Pallet would ideally be reminiscent of Delta Halo. This would allow us to remake old maps such as Sanctuary and Warlock, but also allow us to come up with more simplistic and aesthetically pleasing designs other than the greys and whites which we are currently using.

Waterfalls, puddles and hill pieces along with those provided by Forge Island would be astounding to use for themed maps and aestheticly pleasing builds.

My main idea, is that with this map, focus on more natural scenery and pieces. The blocks are great, but being able to make an entirely rocky map with a waterfall and a lake(ish) area? That would be absolutely incredible from a forge perspetive.

Being able to create a Delta Halo styled map, circulating a small lake with a possible Narrows styled bridge across, all in the theme of Delta Halo? Amazing.

It could be featured on a pillar-like island, with holes and caves diverging through the centre (ideally large holes and caves that would allow us to forge a good sized (think sanctuary or guardian, possibly even the pit) map inside.

This alone would keep me (personally) forging for hours on end, and given the community (non-forge community that is) prefer Aesthetically pleasing, beautiful maps (from common consensus of those who dislike forge maps in matchmaking) this kind of pallet would allow us to create something that could appeal more to those people.

Anyway, just thought I’d throw the idea out there. Forge Island was astounding, but this would blow a lot of forger I know out of the water.

EDIT: TL;DR: A Delta Halo styled Forge Map shaped like an island with a ton of natural pieces, waterfalls, hills etc. with a large cave in the center.

So basically you want the ability to forge maps like Day Break from scatch. I can’t see anything like this for Halo 4, although it would be awesome. Hopefully 343 takes note and works on something like this for the XB1.

We’ve been asking for more than 1 palette since Reach. Since 343 somehow didn’t figure that out before Halo 4 and with Forge Island I wouldn’t get high hopes. Though this sort of map would be great.

I’d just want to see the return of Forerunner and introduction of Covenant skins, to make all types of maps a possibility. Also ability to turn off lighting (If the map in question you want to be lighter)

Even though I hate forging this would be great because then I would have more unique maps to play on!

Eh, I don’t have very high hopes for anything in this game. Thought I might as well try.

Aside from Elites, they’ve delivered pretty much everything I’d been hoping they would. What they didn’t deliver, the community did (through means not allowed to be discussed…).

Indeed, those’d be fantastic! Not sure covenant would be a very good forge pallet though. Those curves are very situational in how they’d have to fit together, and it’d be a pretty big challenge to build with. Forreruner would be great too.

As for lighting, there’s a glitch that can be used to do that (although you may already know that) but it would certainly be nice to have an on-off switch.

A Delta Halo-themed Forge map with Forerunner pieces would make me cry tears of joy for 18 days straight.

I’d much prefer a desert themed map, whether it be on Installation 03 or Requiem

I’m not sure what the XB1 is capable of but it would be neat if we were given a very basic pallet (lots of pieces with bland textures) and options for different “skins.”

Think of a Reach-like pallet but you can select between a variety of “skins” (UNSC, Covenant, Forerunner etc). The game would generate the asthetics very similar to how H4’s dynamic lighting works. Here a few ideas for forge skins:

Covenant:

High Charity
Storm Covenant
Various Home worlds (Brute, Elite, Jackal, Hunter)

UNSC:

Reach
Harvest
Infinity
New Mombasa

I’m not a big forger, but this sounds awesome.

I’d rather have the ruins on Heian, however this may be a good idea for the next Halo game since I don’t think it will be/want it to be Halo 2 Anniversary, this may be a great idea for a Forge map, an anniversary Forge map where it is incredibly large like having numerous locations scattered among Installation 05 (control room, ruins) taht’d be sweet

That’d be great, but I think it’d be difficult to do.

The size of the map file would be incredibly large (because they’d have to store all those pallets in the map file, even if they weren’t being used) and that might cause some problems.

Ruins of Heian would be a good backstory for a ruinous map. I still enjoy the idea of the Delta Halo (Installation 05) pallet though.

That Anniversary Forge map sounds great as well!
