Forge project now pointless?

Before you begin to read this, you need to be familiar with the ‘Halo’ game-type that was was based on the ‘infection’ variant in Halo Reach. The game allowed there to be only one zombie, his/her objective being to kill everyone else trying to make it through a racetrack/obstacle course that went in full circle.

At the end of the track there would be teleporter (usually with an overshield right next to it) that took you to an outer tower with sniper rifles. There, the player that had made it to the finish line would have the opportunity to kill the zombie in the middle (tower). Upon killing the zombie the game would end, or if the zombie killed everyone trying to make it around the track, the game would end.

The reason why I mention this is because recently I decided to create a map based to work with this game-type variant in Halo 4. What I didn’t realize however, was that since the ‘infection’ variant had been changed to ‘flood’ there is no longer the option to customize those who are flood to hold weapons other than the sword. If there is, I’d like to know how.

That said, by the time I finished the course, I only then realized (for whatever reason I had forgotten) that I probably wouldn’t be able to get the game to work. Thus, I feel like the work I put into making my track has been for naught.

If you know of a way to make this map work with a game-type similar to how the original ‘Halo’ game variant was, or of a way to make it so the flood players can carry human weapons (or anything other than the sword) that would be great. I would really like to share and play this map with my friends once I figure out how to get past this setback.

The gametype originated in Halo 3.

But yes, vanilla Halo 4 does not support the proper options in order to recreate this gametype. You could try using a trait zone with a single starting point on the middle platform, with everyone else spawning near the Mongooses. It would need to be a Slayer variant, and I am not certain as to how the starting points would cycle, but it is worth a shot.

Yeah 343 is a joke for ruining custom games for all of us. I tried your idea and the one spawn point is not random unfortunately. It starts with a random player and then just makes the host the spawn point for the rest of the rounds. I hate 343 for taking out Infection. If they don’t bring it back I will not be buying the map packs or Halo 5 for that matter.
