So I was about 2 hours into making a forge map, thought I had accomplished enough for the day, and saved it. I came back to it the next day, but after it had loaded up my screen was just the oracle cursor and what seemed to be a view from underneath the map. I couldn’t move, switch to a Spartan or anything like that, but I could still bring up the menu (via the view/back button) and save, leave etc. I haven’t heard or seen anything similar to this on the forums recently so it seems to be a very select issue but nevertheless is a major problem. If anyone knows a solution to this please help me.
I have exactly the same right now, I am so depressie if nothing is lost and if it will be fixed
I’m sorry to say this but you’re both doomed.
There is a programming issue where if you delete all the spawn points on the map when you load it up again you won’t be able to do anything.
If 343 fixes this problem soon you might be able to go back into that map to save your hard work, but until then just don’t delete the initial stuff set up on the map.
Sorry for the bad news.
omg I just posted another thread about that as well but I didn’t delete all the spawn there is initial spawn on my map but I didn’t realize the oracle spawn on the “respawn point” instead of the “initial spawn” …
If you have a friend join in progress you’ll be able to fix it.
The problem for not being able to spawn is because when you make a map, you have to have a respawn point down somewhere. Now my new problem with forge is I spent so much time creating a race map, saved it under the name Atom, saved it a couple more times during my time working on it, and when I was about done, I saved one last time, left the game. Came back to it, and it wasn’t there. The map did not save, and I have a witness to me saving it lol. Im pretty mad about this.
Alright, so I was just having this problem when I decided to try a few tricks and here is what I found: When I would try to get into my forged map (without spawns) nothing I did would work until I found something that might solve the problem as I believe it solved mine. I went into the map where I could not move, got a friend to join the same map, again, not allowing him to move either. I left the map and after I did, my friend went and saved it to his xbone. AFTER he saved it, I went and joined into his game and it allowed me to spawn as an oracle. Then all you need is to pop a couple of respawns down and save and you have recovered your map.
