Forge Playlist? Custom game browser?

I cannot seem to see why 343 does not release a Forge Playlist for the best user created maps.

Also, something this game is desperately missing is a custom game server browser like we had back in the day with Halo 2 on the PC.

I suppose it just makes too much sense. Damn logic to hell.

Really, there is no interest in this?

yes, I suppose that would work (I actually made this topic first), but where would/do you submit it?

A lot of time and effort (i.e. money) would go into having to curate a Forge Playlist, and 343i is a business. And a busy one at that, they’ve kinda got their hands full as is.
Sure, a Forge Playlist would be great but then you’d have to address who selects what gets in, do the Cartographers? They’ve got pretty full plates too since most have others jobs. The maps that go into matchmaking “need” to be of a certain quality, and someone has to check to make sure that spawns exist, the gamemodes work, etc. This all takes time, and in business, time is money.

Hopefully this sheds some light onto the “why” for you

PS: What they could do is have a section here on Waypoint for it, where maps that have met the standards (confirmed by a valid source like ForgeHub or something), can be voted on for inclusion. That would reduce the workload for 343i significantly since they would not have the actual pressure for selection of the maps, just having to literally assign them to the playlist.

This would be pretty sweet I would honestly be grinding customs every time.

The inclusion of a custom game browser would eliminate the use for a playlist. It would not be hard to program. Yes, they are business, it would take some time, however, I guarantee they are making more than their share from the suckers who purchase req points.

Forge community creations.

Would be amazing.

The current system is very disheartening. We are giving this great tool to create. However, we don’t have an actual outlet to see it put to use. I mean — we could use the awful, and I mean awful, LFG websites.

Playlist and game browser. It is needed.

Yeah, the Forge Community Playlist is way overdue, many of these maps are way better than 343’s community BTB maps… also there are easily more than 100 amazing remakes / re-imaginations out there.

If you guys want to check out some of these great maps, here is a great link to a master list of best forge maps, enjoy!
