I don’t know where to post this, but this is an idea I wish Certain Affinity to see.
Features that I think forge users would appreciate would be Multi-select, and axis flip transforms (mirror an object)
-
Multi-select would allow players to make large changes to maps by selecting multiple objects and move/duplicate/delete/edit attributes of however many objects are selected.
-
Flip axis transform, would allow you to mirror an object along a specified axis.
both symmetrical and asymmetrical maps can be made in half the time.
-
you make a drop pod perfectly, just select all the parts that make it then duplicate it.- you make halve a map, just select all the objects then duplicate and mirror, instantly finishing your map symmetrically.
What do you guys think? any other ideas for Forge? How do you feel about these suggestions?
That is a good idea, I think. If you can set up how many objects you want to place at once, it would be much much faster to create a map.
I am not sure about mirroring half a map, though. Could be difficult to implement.
It should also be possible to take an object and move/flip/turn it etc. from any angle. I don’t like that the monitor will be pulled half a mile in the air so it has a central view over the object. That made it pretty annoying to make detailed adjustments. It often caused my monitor to pulled on the surface of the object when the object center was already underground. Or it threw my monitor away over the map. The monitor then crashed against a wall or so. I hope this will be fixed.
Multi-select would be a fascinating idea! ODST and Spartan Drop-pods would be a great idea!
I’m glad to see the idea is well received so far, I can only think of the possibilities such operations would give us.
sounds like a great feature also an undo button would be nice but we got the reason why not before reach was released.
Hi, just thought I’d start this up again in hopes of the dev team seeing this.
