To all the Players and the Makers within 343 Industries
Over many days playing Halo5 on Infection, Griffball and Warzone Firefight. I finally get to use Forge Mode to start building bases and cool maps for Infection and other game types. The Maps are ok as I find them perfectly good for the Game itself but what I don’t like is the layout controls when editing and building things on Forge Mode. The Control are way too difficulty to pick and move things also too advance for me on this game. Why can’t the controls be the same based on the previous Halo games like Halo3, Halo Reach? Those controls to move objects were easy to control.
Am I the only one who has this problem?
I thought they felt pretty much the same…
The Forge controls were optimized to make Forge much faster once you get the hang of things. Sorry you are having a hard time to adjust, but try out some YouTube tutorials and make a few mockup maps to get practice in.
Because there are more actions, in h5 but.
The same number of buttons.
You will get used to it.
It gets alot easier.
Halo Reach felt a lot more natural to me, but too give Halo 5 credit, it’s a lot more complicated- considering controls, objects scripting all the -Yoink-- it’s a lot better for good map makers to make more diverse maps, but is slightly harder for us noobs to pick up.
Also try changing your button layout when you’re in forge to see if that helps.
OP, you are not alone.
While I appreciate that dedicated Forgers get a lot more out of the new Forge, I personally really miss Reach’s/4’s Forge.
I loved being able to just hop in, plop down weapons/vehicles/etc whenever, and just screw around (especially with friends. RIP split-screen…), especially since player AND monitor properties were editable (aka more or less damage/shields/health, infinite ammo/bottomless clips, etc.).
The new Forge really prevents that from ever happening.
