I’ve been making a map for a while on forge island and there is one specific area of the map where the framerate suddenly drops, similar to how forge maps play for people using split-screen. To clarify I am not using split screen on this map, I am already aware of those problems.
Does anyone have general advice on how to stop slow framerate on forge maps?
I don’t remember specifics, but the guys at some of the fansites (e.g. ForgeHub) might.
What I do know is that some pieces definitely – almost measurably – lag more than others, and this has been the case since Reach. I know that the “Brace, Large” was the single most efficient piece in Reach, but apparently this changed in Halo 4.
In general, try to use objects with simple textures, low polygon counts, and little to no glass.
Thanks for the help, though I’d like to point out that the majority of the map is made from natural pieces, e.g. rocks.
