Currently the list of maps, mostly smaller maps in the MatchMaking rotation is very limited. When I go into Slayer Pro there’s 4 maps (maybe 5?) that are available. Of those, it’s almost always Haven that’s selected. It’s virtually the same in infinity slayer.
It is getting really old really quickly with next to no variety. From what I recall, in Reach, Forge Maps were quickly introduced into MatchMaking to add more maps to the rotation. This needs to happen soon before the current maps become stale and overplayed.
I’m not a huge fan of the maps already, but a huge reason is because I play the same map virtually every game. New ones need to be added very soon.
There was already a vote on this, which you must have missed. It’s been established that NO ONE wants Forge-variant maps; As these were Bungie’s excuse for half-assing new map completion.
While I agree with you on the lack of variety, none of us want to see crappy forge maps come back. This is why Bungie deserved to lose the franchise in the first place- They started half-assing things.
343i is guilty of one thing though- Under-delivering on the maps and gametypes. Only newbies and little kids want to play Slayer all day. A simple way to mitigate brand damage would have been to offer more BTB game modes and proper matchmaking among the troubled 5v5 CTF types etc.
After axing Assault (That’s pretty insane considering they designed nothing of use to replace it, dumbing the franchise down) and 1-Flag, 343i has their back against the wall against an army of angry fans…
The good news is, you get to WAIT a few weeks and then PAY FOR new maps!

I do want to see a few of them but not twice as many forge maps as real maps please. Reach got ridiculous towards the end
I was going to ask this. I would like to see the forge maps added. I really enjoyed the community maps on halo reach. I enjoy new environments even if its just the geometry that has changed.
I did miss that vote…While I agree that a lot of forge maps weren’t that great; 343i hasn’t made many small maps. Which led me to believe they were going to Forge some smaller ones (you can make a small map in a big map, but not a big map in a small map).
There were quite a few solid maps forged IMO that were great, and I think good ones should be brought back.
Also, referring to people who only play slayer as Newbies or little kids, is 100% ignorant. The majority of competitive games are Team Slayer. And No competitive players play BTB, those are rampant with Kids and ‘newbies’. The problem isn’t to make more games for people who love skirmish, those are always the lowest population; it’s to improve the high population slayer games.
I play BTB slayer and would like some new levels. I’d love to see a space zombies forge map.
