So, I’m a forger. Granted, I’m not to great at it, and seem to botch up every good idea I ever have and make the map look different from how it was initially planend (I do have some good maps though.)
Now, there are good forgers however who diserve to be recognized. In Reach, we had forge maps get uploaded into matchmaking because there weren’t too many dfault maps, and not enough people bought the DLC.
My question to 343i is, will there be a community maps playlist? I’m thinking a 5v5 playlist on infinity slayer settings, that allows uploaded maps (of course chosen by the cartographers) to be run in matchmaking.
I think this would be a huge benefit to us forgers to see our maps in matchmaking if their good enough, and have a better motivation to create them.
I know a lot of people didn’t like the grey pallet of the forge maps in reach, which is why I am asking about a playlist. This way, we wouldn’t have to worry about annoying the other people, as they wouldn’t be forced to play on these maps if they didn’t want to.
Granted, I see a problem such as the fact that its pretty much Infinity Slayer but with forge maps, and likely won’t hold a population, but its just a thought I’d like to get out.
How does the community feel about the subject, anyone?
Not at launch but eventually hopefully.

Basically this. From what I understand, the idea is that only a limited/no forge maps will make it in… but no clear amount has been given.
> Not at launch but eventually hopefully.
Of course. We don’t even have some of the default playlists yet, no need for a community playlist quite yet.
But I’m meaning further down the road, like after the map packs have been released and theres no new maps coming out. Maybe even before that.
Its just a thought really, and it’d probably be better to ask this after the game has officially been released…
But it was on my mind, and I’m going to forget if I don’t post it.

Thats true. I’m just meaning for further down the road, once we’ve had some time with the game and some good forge maps have been created.
I know a lot of people would prefer to have no forge maps at all, and this would make it so they didn’t have to see forge maps unless they chose that specific playlist.

Further down the road of course, I mean good maps can be made on day 1, however they don’t want to put all their new maps and new features into the background straight away, maybe when map packs come some Forge maps will come in, I’m sure they’ll need testing, as they work well in a few custom games however for many other gametypes they may not work.

Very true.
Just putting it out there that further down the road, a community playlist would be nice to see what the community has to offer.
And like you said, we don’t want to push 343is maps to the sidelines, this is simply for when everything has run its course, like maybe a year after release and we no longer have new maps etc.
It would give the community a nice thing to do after all thats done, and some interesting maps to check out no less.
But like I said, just a thought I wanted to get down for future reference.
