People here thought when the maps were released they wouldn’t count as DLC.
The fact that we have not received clarification on this from 343 themselves has been proof enough for me to assume they were indeed counting them. Such a shame. While I’ve assumed this was the case, the shockingness of it probably won’t ever wear off. It’s cheap and just low, IMO.
Kay… Guys… They’ve told us that these don’t count towards the DLC maps. When you watch The Sprint, you even see them working on real DLC maps! Use your brains for a moment, really… Your “proof” is mindless cynical hate towards 343i.

Even lower when you consider Forge maps were always free (Halo 3, Reach and 4) and that the justification for REQ cards was to fund all those free DLC maps. You know, because the biggest Halo launch ever, that brought in $400 million, wasn’t enough to cover that.

Nobody said they weren’t working on original maps that will also count toward the overall DLC map count. Seeing them working on maps in their self-shot reality show doesn’t, in any way, infer that they aren’t counting the 4 forged BTB maps toward the overall DLC number.
Look, if you have a source to back up what you claim, please do share it. Otherwise, you are just one of literally hundreds of users I’ve now seen saying the exact same thing…and none of them have been able to provide a link/source to back it up. I’m hoping you prove to be the first to be able to provide such source material. Until you do though, please stop with the ridiculous “343 hate” -Yoink-.
I believe that the forged maps do not count as part of the DLC, but the Canvases do. I assume this because as soon as they officially announced forge the DLC count went from 15+ to 18+ whenever they advertised it. (The 3 canvases tacked on there) Which… Doesn’t actually make a difference honestly cause we still get the 15+ maps.

If the canvases count, then there was no reason to say the game launched with 21 maps when 6 were forged.
You claim that DLC maps include forge maps, but you don’t have a source, yet whenever anyone claims otherwise you pester them for a source. It’s not that hard to understand that downloadable content doesn’t include forge made maps. The first free map pack is coming out soon, so please stop reposting other threads.

Does that mean all of Halo Reach’s DLC was forge as well because it launched with a total of 13 maps, 5 of which were forged.
