.:Forge Maps Suggestions Thread:.

I think it’s fairly easy to say we need more forge maps.
Now, let’s get started on why:

At the moment, we have 3 forge maps. Impact, Erosion and Ravine. These maps have little to no real building space, and there is only so much that can be done with them. While small, 2v2-4v4 maps can be made with ease, the maps lack room for diverse, medium sized building. Maps like Zanzibar and Longshore are very difficult to make, because once one design is done there’s only so much you can do with map flow (with the terrain given.)

Now, I don’t want something quite as massive as forge world, but we do need more maps to make up for the loss of building space.

So, I propose a Forge Map pack possibility, or with the next map packs released we get 1 forge map per pack. This way, we would have more options per maps and places to forge.

Maps:

Dry Ice: Large, snow map based map. Ushaped, flat ish, with very small natural hills. On either side of the U shape and to the back there are interconnecting caves with Colossus style forrunner structures.

Pallet: Dark grey - Colossus styled pieces and blocks with snowy textures. Vehicles use the snowy camo we saw in the Halo 3 map (not remembering name, but it was a remake of sidewinder.)

Map specific pieces: Snow hill, Snow hill Small, Snow hill large, Snow hill Cave Snow ramp, Man Cannon Huge, other. (Community suggestions?)

Cracked Stone: Large, Delta Halo (Apex?) Styled grassland map. Two different, medium sized open grasslandish areas with an intricate, map specific movable wall deviding the two. Around one of the outer edges would be a large open space blocked from the inside buy a removeable rock wall.

Pallet: Stone - Delta Halo styled pieces and colours. Ideal for a stellar sanctuary remake or other Halo 2 structures (such as Regret buildings.) Similar to Halo 3’s Sandtrap and Sandbox (in terms of pallet, but more likeliness to the Halo 2 style).

Map Specific pieces: Devider Wall, Mossy Stone Wall, Moss Decorative piece, Rock Wall Large, Delta Halo Specific pieces (Stone Collumns, large, angular fin shaped pieces) [Community Suggestions].

Alright, so above I have given the maps that I would like to see. These can be changed depending on the feedback I’ve given, and I’ve left a space (and the reply below this can be for more detials and more maps if needed) for more maps to be given.

So far, I’ve listed a few basic ideas with forge pallets we haven’t seen yet. Of course, we can still have ideas and whatnot for maps we have seen, but don’t have much building space on. So theoretically, Impact II or Erosion II could be a suggestion given, depending on how many thanks one comment gets or how many people support the commment.

There are also many open spaces for map specific pieces for the two maps I’ve listed, so we can have pieces that you guys thing would be really useful in those kinds of enviroments.

TL/DR: Above are forge maps. Give ideas for more forge maps, and give helpful community feedback.

Why on earth am I not surpirised that a deliberate troll bait thread can get constant replies, but a thread specifically about the community that is trying to involve everybody and improve the game for forgers and custom gamers get’s 0.

Someone will go and post an entirely opinionated thread about the map Complex, and everybody replies to it.

Honestly, this is getting really, really ridiculous. I’m trying to make a constructive thread that engages the community, isn’t bashing anything or opinionated, and may be possible, but nobody cares.

Yet, I garuntee you if I went into the matchmaking forums, posted yet another thread about how Throwdown needs radar, the DMR sucks or Complex should be removed, I’d get a 4 page thread.

Fine, be that way community.

Sorry for trying yet again to be helpful. I guess this thread will die just like my Spring Jump locations, forge ideas, and basically every other thread I’ve made that didn’t involve the Boltshot or the DMR.

So nobody cares about forge maps or any of that?

I’m getting really tired of community threads dieing before they even start, but boltshot discussions living on forever.

I think your ideas are GREAT!

Unfortunately I’m afraid the FORGE issue is a dead one. Some of us FORGERS have been complaining since H4orgless came out. Most of us have gone back to REACH to FORGE.

Simply bcuz of map sizes and gametypes(lack thereof)

I agree with ALL of your ideas. Will 343i change FORGE? Highly unlikely

I would welcome ANY info on FORGE. To this point there has been NONE! So my thinking (although it could be wrong) is that there will be NO changes to FORGE.

I like it BUT what happened 2 the hallway outside the gravlift room. Seriously. You can’t leave that out

This looks like a good idea, but this seems like something more likely to happen in the next forge, as in H2A or Halo 5.

This is more about forge maps for Halo 4, but I do like the ideas!

@Everyone else in the thread - well, at least I’ve been proven there’s some form of hope for the Halo 4 forums

@ObiJeff: This doesn’t seem like the right place for that. I will say (not to be mean, just a note) that the map looks really good in terms of use of dominion objects, but for overall cleanness in forging, someone else has done a better job.

I think all the current forge maps should be bashed into one sup3r map. Impact is up high, and you can see the meteor thing from ravine. Cool, and fine scenery. Also, lots of air building space.

The entrance to erosion should be down in the ravine.

And lastly… on ravine, that beach area in the background? That should be a forge map on it’s own.
