Here is something cool to think! Transfer forge maps from halo 5 to Halo infinite? Now I don’t think this will happen and I think it would be hard to make it happen. But how awesome would it be to be able to transfer your maps to infinite? I think it would be awesome to happen but all forgeable things from 5 would have to be in infinite I would love if this happened cause I have spent a while on a few maps I love and want to play it in Infinite but don’t want to remake it. And something like this for forge would be a huge step in forge and I think it would be good! Whats your thoughts on cross game map transfers? Do you think it should happen?
I’d rather see Forge have a pc/Mac standalone app to work better, faster and more precise with the option to upload it to the Halo servers. Forge has become needlessly complicated in H5 if you ask me.

Yeah thats a good idea also and yeah H5 Forge is more complicated then it needs to be and I hate how they changed the controls for it but scripting is confusing also much harder then it was in halo 2 I have a hard time making a working door in H5 but if they make it less confusing in halo infinite I would be happy and I think most of the community would be also and I would like a standalone app for PC I think it would be a good step for Halo PC but if anything I just want forge to be easier to control again like in Reach anyways I’m glad to hear your thoughts
It would be awesome to see these maps transferred over. Halo 5 has some of the coolest forge maps in the entire Halo series but like you said I dont think we will ever see this happen.
One reason being the fact that Halo Infinite will be running on the Slipspace Engine instead of the Blam engine which Halo 5 runs on.

Well you have to remember that in the game itself, working doors are just code scripts the developers made to make a certain thing happen. It’s not something as simple as Dialogue end/door script open - speed 0.6 or whatever, but enabling us to make working doors is them essentially taking the coding they use to open doors in the main game and breaking it down so we can piece it together to make it happen at will without us being game developers ourselves (my best guess, I didn’t get far into game development and coding before I had to drop out of college). So it’s going to be pretty complicated in the beginning. Most people had things spawn or despawn in games like Reach to make things happen such as a door opening or closing.
But as they get better at it, the objective will become easier.

I would be devasted if Forge was a standalone for PC. I forge on Halo 5. I can script. Add doors. Moving objects. Platforms. Etc.
The controls were a pain to get used to, but ever since I did… I forge faster and better than I did in any other Halo.
This would be so awesome but I can’t see it happening either. Maybe they could figure out some way to use the closest possible pieces to match when you transfer but it sounds like a huge headache.
I wish I could transfer over my Undead City map over to Reach on MCC or Halo Infinite
