Forge map saving on other maps

So this happened twice, I was forging, saved the map, the pop-up saying that it saved, I turn off reach, then the console. Later I come back on, and my map is plain without the things I put on it. Does anyone know how this happened?

Hard drive error. Happens sometimes. And if you try to forge on a map, and you look through your maps to find they have doubled up, quit the game, restart it and try again or it will corrupt your maps. Don’t know why this happens.

This happened to me yesterday, but there was no doubling up of files like I notice sometimes. The file merged with another file. The description and map were the same, but the title was a different map, (and the one that was forever lost), which was just my blank canvas of Boneyard. I was damn lucky I lost that and not a map I worked hard on. The blank canvis map was older, but the last map I updated. The map it turned into was the infection map I had worked on right before that. Always save an extra copy of the map you’re working on. I hope this info helps save someone’s precious map.

It has something to do with entering a map, not saving. Entering another map and then saving.

Save extra copies.

Whatever the reason for writeovers, the best way to avoid them is to always select “Save As New Map” when finishing a forge session.

Keep track of your saves with the description and delete old versions. I lost three maps in one night, started saving with this method since, and haven’t lost one map in over a year.

Thanks for the help.
