Forge location problems

Piece locations sometimes change while saving the map. I had two grids overlapping slightly, phased, and locked. They were perfectly aligned through coordinates only (no magnets on them), and upon saving the game and hopping into a custom match to test my kill zones I discovered that one of them heaved up about .1 units. No matter how many times I reset them, or whether it was phased, normal, or fixed, this ALWAYS occurred. I managed to get this to occur with almost every other type of piece I tried.

Also, magnet strength seems to have two effects. One of which is that the magnets don’t snap from as great a distance, but the other is a massive reduction in piece placement accuracy when using anything less than high strength. Is there a good reason why one would ever want magnets with sub unit (less than .1) inaccuracy?

Yup, I just spent a solid 3 hours getting every single floor piece of a map lined up 100% perfectly, having to redo the entire thing from scratch, and when I saved the map and loaded it in a custom game everything became horribly misaligned.

Brilliant, that makes it unusable for my application.

I haven’t had any issues with it.

Well, then I guess that settles it. Thanks for correcting me!

>.<

As soon as the wifi on my phone turns on I will post a picture, if only one was able to upload in game screenshots to waypoint…

Yea, I’ve had this happen to me also where the coordinates match up perfectly and you’ll save the game and when you load it the pieces are all misaligned but the coordinates are all still the same. Makes it impossible for me to make a solid map with good flooring

Incoming crappy cell pic.

It did this to every single piece on the entire map. Vertical placement is also skewed.

Come on, this just get buried like nobody else has a problem?

Why there isn’t subforums for forge, campaign, etc. for each game is beyond me.

There used to be general subforums for Multiplayer, Campaign, Forge, etc. Instead of individual games. That was back when the forums were in beta.

This was a problem in Reach, too. I have it happen to me in this game, but only when I am not on host. It’s quite the annoying bug.
