Forge like minecraft

I think that Halo can learn a bit from Minecraft. My main point is that we should be able to make mechanisms and stuff. It would be really useful for every map if we could make buttons that we could press with our controller (Press (x) to press button) that correspond to other things like doors. There would have to be some sort of wiring system and it would require some moving parts (like Pistons) but it would lead to amazing creations and inventions and would overall lead to better Forge maps. What do you guys think?

Im not sure, but i already think they said they would put this kind of mechanics in halo 4. ‘‘Be able to open doors with the press of a button’’.

Sounds good to me!

It should work like this…

There will be a list of interact items, when you spawn it, you can edit the features such as how much time it would take for the button to work, Delay time, etc. Then it will have a feature where you set it to alpha, bravo, charlie… or 1, 2, 3… Then, if you were to spawn an object, such as a block, and open up it’s option menu, it would have the same feature. Then you set it to the same as the switch, and one new option will open up, and it will allow you to choose the path the object to take.

You can make many things of this. Press a button, doors will open up, panels with lift you (elevator), or will spawn and delete things.

Not bad, but without the “wiring” part. Make it like teleporters, which have “channels”. Button Alpha operates door(s) Alpha, etc. In fact, that could work out really well for making, say, door puzzles. Not useful in games of multiplayer, but still fun.

Really? Really? Look right above your post.

I’m sorry but this would take longer to make happen with Halo. Reason being it’s unreasonable to the time being! Minecraft uses a simple sandbox, while Halo uses already designed equipment capable of their own mechanics. I’m not saying it’s impossible i’m saying it would take a lot of time and i really would have their time spent more on a better campaign to be honest!

YES!

we need elevators and doors and lifts (mechanical ones, like escalators) of ALL SIZES (from small, to medium, to medium-large, to large, to EPIC)and MULTIPLE buttons to operate them in forge 3.0.

this would be phenomenal.

like ‘on / off’, ‘up / down’, ‘left / right’. etc. etc.

what about buttons to turn on and off teleporters too!? wouldnt that be sweet to have the functionality to turn on an entrance to a base via teleporter? my goodness it would be SO EPIC FUN to grab an invis, then sneak into a heavily guarded base, then kill the dude camping the button (camping it with a shotgun, OBVIOUSLY lol), then press the button to get reinforcements then proceed to execute a takeover of a base, then grab the flag and get out via hijacked vehicle?

stuff like this gets mah juices pumpin. forge 3.0 will be awesome, especially if they add in stuff like this.

Maybe doors would be like teleporters, where each button will have a channel which will open whatever door is on that corresponding channel.
It would be deceptively simple, as forging has always been along with most everything in Halo.
