Forge itself is useless

Guy 1- “Man, I’m getting bored of playing these same maps in Matchmaking.”

Guy 2- “Fear not, for with this cool Forge tool, anyone can make their own map.”

Guy 1- “Aw cool. Hey check out this map I just made.”

Guy 2- “Damn, this is actually good. Let’s play it.”

Guy 1- “Well, it won’t be that fun with just the two of us.”

Guy 2- “Yeah. Hey, how come we can’t just play it in Matchmaking?”

Ever since Forge was added to this franchise, the only use for it was in Custom Games. But in Halo 4 AND Reach, there are unlimited options in Forge, yet it still only applies to Custom Games.

I understand that not just anyone can make a great map, and I’m also aware of Forgehub.

But how does all that stuff work?

If you want to play forge maps with a lot of people, make some new friends. Try talking to the people you encounter in-game, or mass-message recent players. Having Forge maps in matchmaking is a ridiculous concept; it didn’t work in Reach… Also, being able to play any forgable map you choose in matchmaking would cause many issues and exploitations to occur.

False. In halo 3-Reach they have had community BTB maps and Community slayer. 343i fails to address it. Also this game has been out for like 2 months now and there is still nothing on the file browser.

The last couple Halos had maps made by the community in Forge in matchmaking, but I’d guess they were a bit apprehensive of adding them in at launch because this forum whined nonstop about them.

I should not be forced to remove real friends my friends list because of an oversight by 343.

Umm…what? Are you saying you have a full friends list? You do realise that is an XBOX LIVE limitation right? And yes, this is stupid. How is forge useless? It’s amazing. Best map editor on a console game by far. And couple with Halo’s awesome community (ignoring whining babies on forums currently), it’s not hard to get your map seen, played and a good custom going with a bunch of friends and friends of friends.

Halo 5 needs a Custom Games Browser and a real map editor (see Far Cry 3).

343 is still msturbating that’s why you haven’t seen any community maps on matchmaking so the real questions when are they going to cu?

Ok I’ll give you that, FC3 has an amazing map editor. Personally, I still can’t go past the community driven experience that is Forge (not to mention it has been around since H3).
