Am I the only one worried that the only demo we have seen of the Halo 4 Forge system seems to ONLY show items we are already familiar with from Halo Reach Forge?
When we went from Halo 3 to Halo Reach, we were given a WHOLE NEW PALETTE to work with.
Now that we’ve got Halo 4, WHAT"S NEW?
I see they re-skinned the “Base_Round” …and the mancannon…gee thanks…what else you got?
I want to see ALL NEW blocks, bridges, BUILDINGS, etc.
…and we just haven’t seen anything to support the idea that there’s ANYTHING new in the Forge Palette…and none of you rage-monkeys seem to care!

I don’t think they should reveal a Forge demo showing off all the things you can place.
Let you discover that.
And besides, what makes you think that we won’t be getting anything new? All they’ve shown us is a work in progress demo to showcase some new additions.
I agree. So far nothing new or revolutionary has been introduced. Sure dramatic lighting is cool and mag lock is a life saver but what about a texture application? Where are the new pieces? Where is the undo function which could have been easily put in single player forge?
There is still much more to reveal and I’m hoping that 343 is going to surprise us but for the moment I -and I know I speak for other members of the forge community- am not happy with the Halo4 forge as it is. Halo3 to Reach was revolutionary, but I’m not feeling that with Reach to Halo4.

Exactly.
There is much more to reveal.
How can you be saying you aren’t happy with Halo 4’s forge from a work in progress demo? The demo wasn’t made to show you new shiny things, it was made to showcase some new tools and abilities that make forge better overall.
> They really haven’t demonstrated the pieces. We saw select items used to demonstrate the new features in the forge demo, but we haven’t had the opportunity to see if there are new pieces or not.
Well, if you watch the video, and pause it during the menu scenes, you see lots of stuff…all old.
They said the UI was “Placeholder” from Reach…but not the menu items.
New pieces would be great, but I don’t want them to completely toss out the old palette, either. It should be expanded rather than replaced. Just how much of an expansion there is, we don’t know yet. Hopefully it’s a fair amount.

I read somewhere that what we saw at Rooster Teeth Expo was not a demo, it was the real deal; or at least it was very close to the final product. That is why I am annoyed.
EDIT: Searched for source with no luck. I think it was a thread in the forums a while back with a link to a comment on NeoGaf.
I’d be pretty satisfied with one single pallet with the same items, without the greyness, but they’re making Forge even better and making not one, not two, BUT THREE Forge pallets on three different Forge environments. This will give the game so, so much replay value.
I’m excited to see the other Forge environments, hopefully at PAX. They said they’ll be showing us a little bit of everything, so I’m really excited for Forge news.

Forge wasn’t shown at E3.
And what? The beginning of the demo says on screen “Pre Release Forge Demo. Not Representative of Final Quality”
They even said there were a lot of placeholders. A lot of it was still in development. It is not a final build.
I really can’t imagine that 343i is stupid enough to just leave the one thing that since before halo 4 was announced, has gotten the most attention and suggestions for than any other feature of the game, as what we have so far been shown. Go take a look at how many forge wish lists there are out there, its almost stupid. They have got way too high of expectations for things to be left at such a trivial and basic stage.
In all other aspects of the game, such as gameplay, graphics, maps, things are looking great, i mean im sure we all have a couple issues with something we’ve seen but we can look past that to how everything else is looking great. Based on that i would say that im excited for what they will end up coming up with for forge

Ahh yes, it was shown at Rooster Teeth Expo, I remember now I watched it live! As for the forge demo I’m sure I read something about a feature in it being final -it may have been the palette for that map.
On one hand, I would like more pieces, on the other I do enjoy the familiarity of the old pieces, and it will make recreations much easier.
Basically, new pieces aren’t the first thing I want, I’d rather have new features before new pieces, the ones we have work now.
