So far im impressed, some people may disagree and may also complain, but overall im happy with halo…for the most part.
So i only really made this post as a kind of question, however if 343 sees some ideas they like, well thats just gravy.
Also im sure many of the other want to be forgers out there have also come to these ideas naturally too, However i have no gripe with the controls of forge, this is not a band wagon i will jump on anytime soon, sure they are different, sure its a step learning curve, but ultimately quite rewarding.
So first of all the question, im guessing by the way that forge arrived you are still working on implementing forge (and the file share) slowly bit by bit?
If so then there is a chance to give positive feedback?
If the answers to these questions are yes, then allow me to give my 10 req points in the mater:
!) Forge maps can become ‘broken’ : Through some experimentation i have found that in order for the guilty spark (monitor/builder) to spawn there must be a respawn point on the map and that volume respawns and initial spawns do not count. This could be easily countered by setting a standard spawn point on all maps (stock or made before the patch) for the monitor. After all we have spent hours making maps for them to be inaccessible and ultimately these maps could (if good enough) be part of your season and pro map rotation pool, you help us we help you.
!) Objects in forge : Many have complained there is not enough, however i think that there is ample choice if you put your mind to it (that is to say if you added more stuff i would of course be overjoyed) the issue here i think is not having a preview. For people that spend a lot of time in forge they will naturally know what parts they like, but of the newer people or the people that want to just drop in quick, i think maybe a little hologram like preview of the item could be displayed (while i know this would take some coding im sure it would be much appreciated)
!) Scripting and physics based stuffs : It was the start of many new ideas and also a great move forward, its amazingly good fun to program something the way you want it to work, however, scripts are invisible so if you mess up its stuck there forever or until you delete your hard work, so a script page would be handy. Also when dropping in to test the map and returning to build the map does not reset, it simply stays a mess. Resets are pretty important for those of us out there who want to try a hand and more complex builds.
!)Wielding : Grouping…genius, wielding…fell short, awesome idea, get uses and implication. Or at least it would be if it didn’t bug out, testing it has shown me that more than one wielded group tends to have some sort of gravity black hole appear and sucks all other wielded groups in to its field of doom. Pretty sure this is just a bug, but until fixed i would recommend grouping instead.
Many complain about kill boundaries, which may cause frustration but are not really that bad.
Many would say that the maps are small, but when i dropped in and started walking about i found them to be not too bad, of course if you want to give us bigger canvases to work on again im sure no one would complain.
