Hey all,
I just finished a map in Halo 5 called Krutzen Manor. If you’d like you can check it out by downloading it from my fileshare, I think. It’s a map that plays like Michael Manor. So yeah, all I need to do now is wait for Infection to come in Halo 5 so I can make a gametype for Krutzen Manor.
ANYWAYS
I’ve seen some issues arrive with my map while testing it in Custom Games.
Nothing game breaking luckily, but annoying things nonetheless.
You see, I have placed working doors down with decals on them. In Forge the decals move along with the door, but in Custom Games they do not. Very annoying and I hope it gets fixed soon.
Then, some FX effects are weird. I placed down dust effects and they work fine in Forge mode, but, in Custom games they do not show up at all! And Steam effects don’t even stay in Forge once you enter human mode again.
Finally, the red sparkling light FX. Once you place this down you can see the light behind EVERY OBJECT! Try it. Place a red fx sparkling light and place like, I don’t know, 10 objects in front of it. Get behind the 10 objects and you will the see red light THROUGH it.
Very annoying issues all. Hope it gets fixed.
Anyone who has thought on this?
My threads always go down like crazy. It never really gets the chance to attract people, or so it feels.
I personally have only spent around 5 minutes in Halo 5’s Forge, so I can’t offer any real advice other than checking the attributes of each offending item individually. Perhaps there’s an option to enable it it at the start of the game, various trigger options, or something else?
I need to get on Forge myself and explore some so I can actually be helpful with these kinds of threads.
Yes I’ve seen steam dissapear when you enter Spartan mode. Just a bug I guess. Easy fix.

Same should apply for these other things then I suppose.

I did all the options correct. As I said, in Forge mode it all works. Not in Custom games.
You can fix the lack of infection by making an infected spawn room. The way you do this make a FFA gametype where weapon damage is on 10%, damage resistance is 400%, melee damage 200%, assignations are disabled, multiple rounds, 1 life per round, unlimited ammo and the weapon is anything but the sword. Then, in forge you want to select a spawn point -> go object properties -> select all of these -> go back to object properties -> set the spawn order to 2. You then want to make your infected spawn room which will have a sword and a spawn point in it. You then want to disable respawning for the sword and set the spawn point’s spawn order to 1. By setting the spawning up like this you are guaranteed to have an infected guy every round. If you need an example look at the Mine Massacre map and Myers gametype in my fileshare.
I hope this helps.
On top of the bugs you found here are some I found.
- Gametype labels: The spawn point game type label isn’t there and the StrongholdsBase gametype label doesn’t work on anything but stronghold bases (I really wanted to create a game with warthogs as strongholds) - Scripting: Movement and rotation scripts are glitchy in general and are even worse with welded objects - Cinematics: I’ve done everything I can think of to fix it but no Spartans appear in my cinematics. - Interactives: Only the ramps from phathom work in forge and scripting does nothing on these items. And I think that’s it.
Well, I can always try that!
I’ve noticed by the way how to fix the scripting object itself. You know how it often spawns back to where you placed it before when you place it somewhere else?
Well, if you did, you didn’t release the object after placing it somewhere else. If you pick up a scripting object and move it somewhere else, you’ll need to release it before going back in human mode to make it stay where last put.

Or we could get an actual legit infection mode or any other modes really. Like how was this even not mentioned to be put in the final game its custom games for -Yoink- sake its one of the reasons we mostly stay playing the damn game.
I haven’t seen those issues personally, but i have come across one that’s annoying me. Chances are its cause i don’t fully understand how it works, but i cant wrap my head around trying to script the animated objects in the forge to work. I have tries a lot of different scripting methods but i can’t get them to work. Do you (or anyone else) know how to work it and can give me a hand please?
Thanks in advance, Michael ( XxJakFestxX )
I have all those issues as well. And what’s up with the 3 forge world sizes? Why are they so small? I like the idea of the 3 different canvases but I think they should all be at least the size of Halo reach forge. I mean, all other halos are actually bigger sized than these. Test it yourself. I really hope all of this gets fixed soon and they expand the maps or just make one forge world bigger than the reach one
The main issue for me is how a formidable amount of objects don’t have bake lighting, which results in pretty hideous looking structures with some objects mis-shaded. They’ll be in broad sunlight, but pitch black. It’s so frustrating for an OCD human like me and I end up being able to use half of the objects available.
Also, for anyone who’s been having trouble with getting the Spartans to appear in cinematics, make sure the camera and the animation location are in the same shot number.

Not all. Rings are an object that for some reason don’t have the light bake option. I understand not having the option for smaller objects but rings can get pretty huge
