So I’ve been messing around with the new Forge tool since its release, and this thing is a beast. The possibilities of what you can create are just about endless. I’m really excited to see what the community will create, and how this thing will grow even further when they release more updates in the future.
That being said, nothing gets deployed perfectly on the first go, and bugs can come from just about anywhere. This forum is to record all the bugs/issues we may encounter or ask the community advice or tips on how to improve your forging experience.
I’ll kick this thing off:
Bugs
-Once you have objects merged in a group and then lock that group, if you try to create another group with two separate objects, it will merge those objects into the locked group (This was painful to find. I had created a whole group of objects on one side of my map and locked it, because i didn’t want to lose my work. I then went to the other side of the map, grouped two bridge pieces together to move around easily, decided I didn’t want them, so deleted them, then came back to the other side to find my locked group was now gone)
Tips
-I find changing the Move-Axis to ‘Object’ makes moving the objects around a lot easier. To do this, go to Forge Options > Tool Settings > Movement Translation > Direction:'Object’
Obviously there is a lot more tips and tricks to be posted, but I wanted to get feedback from everyone else, before posting everything.
