Forge is the Community’s bread and butter

I’d argue that nothing in Halo has had more of a cultural impact than Forge; I remember the days of map editing on Timesplitters 2 trying to make a 007 submarine level and when I got to play Halos Map editor in 2 I was really happy but the introduction of Forge with 3 blew me away!

Forge is the meat of this game and mod tools, there’s no doubt in my mind that Forge is going to be next level.

I hope so. I really hope so but without custom games options being fixed and without custom games browser it’ll be dead in the water

While I don’t disagree with Forge having the most cultural impact on the game, I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s the bread and butter of the game. Multiplayer in all its forms is, but yeah, Forge definitely improves Halo’s lasting appeal across the games, no doubt about it.

I’d be interested in seeing what’s going to happen with it in Infinite, however long it lasts.

6months left! Although i will have forgotten about this game by then.

I’d add it must be combined with robust customs options, which we don’t currently have both because of the limited gametypes, limited options in gametypes, and that saving and loading gametypes is buggy and broken.

Customs and forge combined are for sure the bread and butter of social Halo (I don’t mean social as in the playlist type, I mean social as in getting a bunch of your friends together in a XBL party (or discord now) to shoot eachother and play some dumb minigames). Right now one half is missing and the other half is gutted and bugged. They definitely need to be fixed and it was a big faux pas that they launched as they did, really missed the opportunity to capture the surging day one playerbase unfortunately.
