Seeing that BTB is purely forge is a huge disappointment to me and before you scream you heart out going “but forge is so improved now its great!” that’s besides the point. Honestly the lack of variety in this game so far with map design worries me enough but the fact they wouldn’t even bother to actually map out proper maps and just build in forge blows my mind, I get ever since Halo 3 that forge maps end up in multiplayer, this isn’t a bad thing however you should still be producing normal maps in the end of the day. Forge stands out like a sore thumb when you see it because with all the improvements they made so far they still have to problem of it being big grey blocks.
my biggest worry is what happens if they turn round and say half of the free DLC is forge maps? Remixes aren’t much better either to be honest and some of the maps in multiplayer are down right cheap and lazy. I know I will get a load of people telling me not to play or to be great full of some rubbish, I still like the game but the content in this game so far is ridiculous.
Absolutely agree. The maps are disgusting, none fit for competitive play.

I love some forge maps but to me personally its a sign that a Halo game is getting old, when you see forge maps every other game online. I greatly prefer the gorgeous hand-crafted professional maps to the cobbled together bland forge ones. I want a good six months of REAL maps before paper mache forge maps take over. Forge is an awesome tool but its no substitute for the real deal, then again most of the maps we have so far are kind of lack luster. Really hoping for DLC maps that wow me like old Halo games, we need less industrial barf and more fantastic locations.
If this is the best they could come up with for launch. My expectations for DLC maps are stupid low.
Agreed. If 343 has to use Forge maps due to time constraints or budget or something else then fine. But otherwise if you guys can make proper maps please do so.
Honestly could have been a last minute thing where so many people were shouting for BTB they tried to make some maps to cover it? I’m sure the real maps will look amazing when they come out, just gotta have faith and stay positive.
The maps are fine for the most part. They just suck aesthetically.
I agree, the plethora of Forge maps that we already have is disapointing. The Noveber Sneak Peak didn’t make me feel any better about upcoming content.

I saw the November Sneak peak, yes the new Forge is great! The maps seem to be beautiful. Does that make them better than originan maps? Hell no! I loved Standoff, i am happy it will be back for BTB (and team snipers i hope) but i feel that nostalgia will prevent me from playing its substitute…
This update comes out, what? Next week? I don’t have a quote from Josh Holmes, Frankie or his Stinkles neogaf account, but I really doubt their idea of future support of this game as content via forge maps. This is more getting BTB out the door with the maps built by the Community Forgers. I’m pretty sure we’re going to see some dev built maps not too long from now, I mean we already have that screenshot of the Warzone map that was out before the game was even released. We know stuff is coming.
Wow I just realized… had they not promised us this free dlc… this game would of been a garbage pile of -Yoink-. The fact that there’s an issue of forge maps being a thing for dlc maps is another thing. If this was really the case I would of just bought the map packs if they were actually developed.
