Grouped or welded objects can become permanent, non selectable objects.
-
Forge server fails and/or instantly throws me out of the game/forge session nearly every hour (at a minimum).
-
Continuous “Retrieving Data” message and failure to load map can occur when trying to load a file, due to a corrupted save file due to the insane frequency of forge server failures (loss of connection or failure of forge server during process of saving map = corrupt file).

- Annoying bug, but usually is easy to fix. Create a new group of objects, ungroup them, and usually you can select the problematic objects again.
- Having a good connection with all the proper settings is critical these days, mostly because of dedicated servers. I’ve spent hundreds of hours forging, and I’ve probably been dropped to the menu less than 10 times. Is your NAT set to Open? Even if you pass the Multiplayer test in settings, then that doesn’t mean you have ideal settings for everything on the Xbox One. The Xbox One requires more ports to be opened on your router than the Xbox 360, so make sure that you open those. This is likely obvious, but if you can play with a wired connection then you should do that instead of wireless.
- This drives me bonkers. If it lets you load the map and save it, but won’t let you Save As, then try my workaround. Have a friend load up your map, have your friend do a Save As, then use their new file that doesn’t have problems. It’s dumb, I agree.

Thanks for the tips! NAT is open, but I believe the issue is really just the location where I am at, and the internet service provider. With regards to problem #3, the map file becomes corrupted and you can go in (in forge mode), but when saving, it gives you a “Saving…failed” message, and you can’t Save As under a new map name/file slot, etc. If you bookmark it, the map will not load and an error message like “the file may not exist” occurs (I have not tried this with a friend selecting the map, but worth a try). Thus far this has happened to me twice, and my solution is always have back up files, and never put in more than ~30 minutes of work without creating a back up.
