I use to love forge for halo reach and even halo 4 but you guys have made it far to complicated to make maps. You have to press far too many buttons at once just to rotate a peice and far too many options. Theres absolutley no need to make forge more confusing or so call update it with all your fancy little tricks. I can gaurantee forge and community maps are down 1000 percent…Forgers have always asked for better peices to use or the same in which 343 uses in its maps, we didnt ask for you to make it more confusing or have 20 options for things.
Im sorry but the simpler the better and as an avid forger back in the day im so disappointed and really dont have the time that it takes now to forge a map…Honestly 343 wont care or listen anyways to our opinions. SO SAD…
its seriously not that hard to learn. It takes about an you of messing around to lear. The controls fairly well and then from their you can forge new maps to learn more advanced stuff and get better. The proper forgers love it! The options and speed is endless!
Actually the forge community has been thriving and has created way more creative maps and modes that were not possible in past iterations.
It seems complicated when you first start which i can understand why people would be more discouraged to give it a try but honestly just give a solid couple hours a day to get the hang of it. It took me maybe like a 3-6 on a weekend to really get the hang of it but i would say it took even long to fully understand everything. so maybe a full day of throwing things down. The best way to learn is to just thrown a map together while trying to go through all the settings. Also if you are curious on how to do certain things then just ask any halo forge community for some tips/help.
Just takes time man.
I just dont understand why they need to make it more confusing even to start with? why fix something that isnt broken?
cause a lot of forgers basically wanted a map editor and that is exactly what they got. You want the ability to make whatever comes to your mind? You need the tools do do so and a consequence of getting those tools is them getting more complex

because the didn’t fix it they improved it ten fold.

The new setup is particularly more efficient at manipulating large quantities of objects while the old handled single objects a bit faster. It’s better for building and really isn’t much of an issue; a little learning time isn’t bad.

Because the new controls make sense with how they remade forge. U do know that they remade forge from the ground up right? So since they made it more in-depth then some things had to change. The only thing i dont like really is the up and down being a & b buttons lol.
Like i said just mess around with it. Set a goal to build a map. Once you get familiar with the controls and the tools then you will get a way better understanding of how everything works.
Forge needs nurf now too?!? Hahaha
Forge is the best it’s ever been.
The only way to go forward from old Forge was to make it a little more complicated. And it’s still way, way more simple and friendly compared to other map creation modes.
Honestly, the only thing this Forge needs in order to function the same as it used to (in terms of the complexity and all) is a proper, built-in tutorial.
Why don’t they just include a “recon” control option for casuals? I used to have so much fun messing about on forge with my friends, now it has a learning curve that’s stopped it being a fun thing and just a serious tool.
It just takes time to learn it.
My only complaint with this new Forge mode is that it does not have prefabricated rooms, unlike the old Forges. So now, it is infinitely more difficult for me to make a Zanzibar Remake since I don’t have prefabs to help me.

It’s probably because at its core, Forge has way too many features and options to complement a recon style controller scheme. it’s not to hard to mess with friends once you get the hang of it.
It literally took me about 5 hours to learn. You just need to get used to it!

Halo 5’s Forge controls are a blessing.
While there is a learning curve to the controls, instead of trying to build a map outright, sit down for an hour or so of your free time and just mess around with the controls. Get a feel for them.
I struggled when Forge first released, but after spending about 2 days on nothing but learning Forge, I’ve gotten a great hang on the controls.
The new Forge controls add so much possibility that were just feeble dreams of the Forgers, even back during Reach’s days.
I’ve made near perfect remakes of maps from old games.
Before Halo 5, my Forge maps were nothing I was really proud of.
The controls aren’t that hard to learn if you sit and practice with them for a little while.
And I’ve never seen a flourish of maps from the community.
Halo 5’s Forge community has exploded with the new controls.
I do not like the current forge maps. There needs to be a setting where its all water.
OP, you obviously have never tried 3rd order differential equations…now that stuff is complicated.
