Why on earth did 343i incorporate Forge the way they did? If the Multiplayer hub is Down I CAN’T use Forge! And now 3 minutes ago I had access to the maps I’ve made, now suddenly i cant access ANY of them! I’m trying to recreate maps I made on Reach (miss some of the abstract pieces like the pyramid, xxl platform, and ROUND RAMPS) so i have to go back and forth sometimes. Yesterday the Multiplayer had a hiccup and i couldn’t open forge at all. You do not have the ability to Open forge on a local server, and if my maps are ONLY saved on cloud I wouldn’t be able to use this feature if I were to lose internet from a storm of whatever… This Forge is AMAZING but i prefer to Forge OFFLINE… What Gives 343i?
Exactly. 100% agreed - 100%!!!
What if multiplayer servers are down… but I still want to mess around on Halo… so no Forge?!? Stupid idea.
If someone wants to join the lobby with me (forge), the ok… migrate servers or something… but cmon.
Forge sessions are hosted on dedicated servers, and those dedicated servers are doing a lot of the processing while we are forging. The Xbox One console is not powerful enough to handle the types of things going on in forge. That is why on Earth it was done this way. It definitely sucks when the servers are having issues, but we get the benefit of having complex features that would otherwise not be possible. Only a small fraction of players understand this concept, and lots of people say “remove the online requirement!” without understanding that there would be consequences. If you want to have a shot at changing something about this, then explain why you don’t think the added benefits are worth the online requirement. Another option would be to ask for a “dumb-forge” option without said features.

I like that - “smart” and “dumb” forge : D
I love the new features - I guess I’ll settle for “online only” for now. Thanks for the info!
