Alright. In this week’s episode of “I can’t finish my map cause Forge is Broken” I’ll explain in detail a few of the glitches I’m coming across, as they are seriously becoming an issue for my map.
- Scripting is completely broken…
At the moment, I am forging a bridge that extends when you toggle a switch, and retracts when you toggle it again. The actual bridge is using 3 shielded glass pieces that extend / retract at different lengths so that they give the appearance of a forerunner light bridge. All three must be at different length (1 moves 63.50 units, 2 moves 127.00 units, and the last moved 190.50 units) so that they make up the whole bridge length. they all three begin in the same spot.
Anyways, I tested the toggle and it worked fine. I saved my map and exited. Then, when I loaded my map again, I toggled the switch athe the 127 unit piece decided it wouldn’t move 127 units any more, instead it moved some random distance, like 70 units.
- Scripting and welded objects blows
I made several rings to go along with this bridge, and in order to make rungs you have to weld two half rings. Well using scripting, I made them move enough units to go along the bridge. Except when ever I toggled the switch, they move as if they aren’t welded. Like, the top half of the welded ring might move 60 units while the bottom half of the same welded ring moves 65 units. Even though they are welded together.
- natural pieces tend to suddenly raise or lower without me interacting with them. Like I’ll spawn a flat nature piece for the ground, go forge somewhere else in my map, and come back to that flat nature piece and it’ll have lowered several tens ofl units.
=============
These are just a few of the issues I’ve come across in forge. I do not know how to fix it. One day all my stuff worked, I saved it and now it wdoesn’twork anymore. If I could please have some insight on issues, or if you have experienced the same and know now than i do, please let me know.
