Hey Everyone! Gamertag Vampyre0422 here! Ok, Yes, I’m back With Part three of my forge ideas! If you missed my first installment I kindly refer you to Part 1 of my forge ideas! and if you missed installment number 2 i happily send you to Part 2 of these ideas! Just like last time these Ideas are not official, and I know that the Xbox 360 has limitations and may not be able to perform all of these scenarios and mechanics I am suggesting. So lets get started! I’m going to be touching base on more Pieces and more skins and coloring options, More weather conditions, touching base on vehicles again, and the expansiveness of forge world. So sit back, read, absorb, and enjoy!
Piece Options
More Piece Options. These are always fun! More Functional and semi-functional pieces! these seemed to get the most recognition so I figured id pitch some more
- More functional pieces. The motion and button activated piece ideas are near never ending. I wish could think of them all! My brain would eventually explode to over exposure to pure awesomeness!
A. Shudders. In H3 there was a map that had shudders, but once they opened they couldn’t close. so my suggestion is bring shudders back, only make them so they can be opened and closed at will.
B. More than just grav-lifts. I liked the Air propelled lifts that they had in reach, it added a bit more authenticity to the maps. so suggest that there be more than just gravity lifts.
C. as a semi-funtional piece, I would like to see breakable glass. and of course this glass could have different thicknesses from regular easy to break glass, all the way up to our ever-popular invulnerable forerunner glass.
Textures, skins, and colors
Ok, I got to thinking, different skins are cool right? and EVERYONE wants a color palette to color their pieces so that they all are not that dull Forerunner grey color. I am about to touch base on both of these.
- Skins, I listed a few skins for pieces that react per weather condition. so i figured id make a few more, and maybe a skin or two that doesn’t have to do with the weather condition all the time.
A. In an Earlier Installment I listed the option for a tool digging for excavation or simply a land warp tool, I also listed lava as something that spreads once you place it. which leads to making volcanoes and volcanoes erupt Right? So my suggestion is volcano ash from a recent volcanic eruption.
B. And there Is also an idea for like the muck at the bottom of a piece if you make a swampy area.
C. Also vine covered pieces like for if you make a jungle area.
D. And you can color these skins to have what ever look you like, say you want a forest to look all like autumn, you can color leaves and vines and trees and such to fit an autumn theme.
- Textures. More textured pieces! from flooring to walls to what ever.
A. leaf and plant trails (from clear to rough.)
B. Bullet hole, explosion, and sword slashed covered walls (can be set to be randomly generated per piece)
Vehicle Coloring
One of my favorite things in Halo Reach was the ability to color certain vehicles. (the mongoose and the base of the shade turret) but i would like to see vehicle coloring for all of the vehicles! or at least the human ones!
- Human Vehicle Coloring
A. Give the hog the same coloring capabilities as the mongoose
B. Give the scorpion at least the choices between forest green, brown, or gunmetal grey.
C. Keep the mongoose with its awesome array of color options!
D. Give the flying vehicles a secondary color
- Covenant Vehicle Coloring
A. Give all the covenant vehicles a minimum choice of the blue, purple, and the red from the revenant.
Or if you are partial to full color customization, give the people the ability to personalize their preferred vehicle colors of their map with a primary and secondary color.
Expansiveness of forge world!
Saving the best for last! This is what I’m assuming you were all waiting for me to talk about!
- For those who have played Metroid Prime, you all remember the world map right? different regions of the planet you were on, most notably, chozo in metroid prime 1 had all the different areas. so my idea is that you have a forge world “world map” that allows you to travel in between different parts of forge world. for example going from a jungle or swampy area to say a frozen wasteland in the push of the button in your forge start menu. this would of course restrict your weather options, but leave a whole new world of possibilities. And save the trouble of separating it by map. here are my suggestions for regions.
A. An ocean region
B. A desert region
C. A snowy region.
D. A region filled with lava planes
E. A Jungle region
F. A swampy region
G. A mountainous region
H. Just a regular grassy region that has no restrictions to the possible weather.
I. A sky region
J. A post apocalyptic Region
K. A mining region
You can still of course use the excavation or “land warp” tool on any of these regions to create a look you want.
