Forge Idea: Tripwires

My idea for Halo 4 forge is that you can have tripwires to activate certain things when someone walks/drives through them. Tripwires could cause any number of things, it can cause certain objects to spawn or despawn, some to explode, even make some objects move from one place to the other. What do you guys think? Comments? Ideas?

I dont see it does seem like a thing they would use 500 years in the future

No no no, I should have been more specific. It’s like an invisible line that no one can see in forge, when someone walks or drives through the invisible line it causes something to happen.

I would like more traps. Trip mines aren’t enough.

The more customization in Forge the better. If they can find a good way to implement this with friendly use, i don’t see why not.

I could see it as a way to open doors as well. It’ll be great for making machinima.

Exactly, the possibilities are limitless. Machinimas, race maps, traps, mazes, etc.

if you mean barriers that trigger certains actions by crossing through them, then yeah, that would be an awsome addition.

And buttons!

like traps? i do like traps…

Depends, they could be used for traps, they could also be used just to spawn objects on command, or make fusion coils or mines explode.

Both trigger points and switches would be a nice addition to Forge.

I figure if in a game like Minecraft you can construct a basic computer, we should at least be able to have custom switches in Forge, right?

we also need sticky pistons!

i would prefer buttons, like to open doors and stuff like in campaign
edit: or both

What are those?

343, make it happen.

Don’t hate me, but I haven’t played Minecraft. I’m more of a console gamer than a computer gamer.

In the Forge World ViDoc Bungie stated that they used community forging methods from Halo 3 and turned them into tools in Reach (Fixed, Phased and Normal modes for example), so I assume 343 can do the same
