Now before I can explain, please excuse my grammar for i am on a phone.
Now resize does well, what it says. Pick any object and make them smaller or bigger (not like bigger than a whale) but bout the same size as a collosium wall. (spelt that wrong) Hell, use the new option to decorate your map more, or you are having problems with fitting/finding the right piece to use. Column to small? make it bigger and fit the way you want.
I know some of you are saying right at this point “That’s what phase is for” Well, you are kind of right. but not entirely.
I apologize for this post being too small, but i cant say much because this phone is lagging like hell.
Thank you for reading.
If this could be implemented I’m all for it. However I don’t see any way that it could be. Not without bad graphics on large pieces and an extremely complicated budget system.

Well Blocks and wall cost the same so budget wont be to much of a problem if you think about it. problem though is that they would need a correctly sized skin for every possible size combination. Though they have been working on Halo 4 for about 3 years now so if they did implement it they would of had plenty of time.
I’d love to see a resize option. For many pieces it would work very well. As stated though, the graphics would have to be adapted for the largest size an object would be. From there when you make it smaller, the graphics would go through an adaptive degradation. This doesn’t mean it will look bad, but rather smooth out the pixels without much loss of resolution for objects that get smaller. This kind of thing happens in Photoshop to a degree.
On another note, I really want to see some ROUND objects for forge. We have a scant few in Reach. I’d like round columns to start. That can’t be that hard to do, considering all of the curvy Covenant objects in the campaign.

Blocks and walls costing the same was something I HATED about Reach forge and would much rather see this kind of thing not return if it can be helped.
I believe the proper term would be a scale option. In 3D programs there is a tool to scale objects, where you can expand or shrink an object proportionately, proportionately across 2 axes, or stretch and shrink an object on a single X, Y, or Z axis.
It would be a useful feature to Forge, but I’d imagine there would need to be some constraints built into the tool.
I made a thread like this with visual examples.

What was so bad about? I don’t see any problems that it could cause.

The fact that a 1x1 block costs the same as a 5x5 block really bugged the crap out of me. Look at it this way. If you make a map entirely out of 1x1 blocks as a pose to 5x5 blocks, you’ve essentially limited the map space to a 25th of what it could have been. Just for a small aesthetical change.
I think you might get a problem if you can apply resizing on every object. Crates, weapon racks, vehicles etc all being scaled would not only look silly, but would also mean they would become unusable and they might mess up gameplay (imagine if you resize a Hog, but the interactivity on it is still in place…driving around in 30cm long Hogs, or 10 meter long Hogs isn’t exactly good).
If it were to be on floors and walls however: great.
But then we get to another problem: textures. This idea basically only works if the engine allows for textures to repeat, so that when you make something bigger the texture (usually a squared image) will copy itself as many times as needed. Because if the textures were to be scaled, the objects would look really bad in terms of graphics.
I’m all in for resizing objects, but I doubt 343i will put it in thanks for a lot of limitations.
